The referee ruined that game, what a bastard. This is why in England you don't send somebody off unless you absolutely have to.
Gutted for Jerome because he was half way to a brilliant performance.

We'd have won that about 7 if things hadn't gone a certain way (i think it was a sending off as well to be honest - Jerome was a bit stupid)
What made me laugh is when they said they were a different team at home - why, can they defend set pieces in Israel? They were absolute gash.

If Jerome hadn't been a bit daft, Christ knows what it would have been.
We even outplayed them, with Sailf Diao & Dean Whitehead in the middle of midfield. I reckon we go for it over there. A win and it's all over for the group barring a disaster.

Game was a bit of a pisser really. Underwhelmed by Maccabi is a bit of an understatement.
They had one chance and it was offside, and sorro saved it anyway.
Anybody know if europa highlights are shown on telly?

They'll probably be on UEFA's website tomorrow. That's about it.
Although on the website they only show goals, nothing else.

What the fucking hell did their manager say to them? 3-0 down and they couldn't even muster a fucking shot. They were doing our job of time wasting.
The ref ruined the game, the stupid, baldy bastard. That's the only wank thing about Europe - Shite refs and cheating bastards.

Hope someone makes a GIF of it soon. Will be my new signature. It'll be viral on YouTube for weeks. Was one of the funniest things I've seen on a football pitch

My thoughts on the game:
Stoke:
Everyone had a decent game. Salif could have had a straight red for that tackle in the first half, but otherwise was as good as I've seen him since his first spell here. KJ was excellent, should have scored that one on one at the end but was holding it up really well on his own. Defence had no problems, Ethers looked better, Shotton was alright and put some good balls in, Deano was frustrating when he passed his through-balls too short but was the right choice to just hassle them in midfield. Palacios will be a fucking God in midfield for us, if he gets fit.
Maccabi Tel Aviv:
Goodness, where do you start? No cutting edge at all, frail at the back and could only pass it between the midfield and defence before they lost the ball. At least Thun came and had a go.
The sending off(s):
Jerome was stupid to get booked for dissent, BUT if the referee thought the elbow was deliberate it's a straight red for violent conduct, not a second yellow. You can appeal against a straight red but not two yellow cards, so that's him out of the away game. There was no way it was a deliberate elbow (did he even make contact?); he never looked at his man once, eyes on the ball at all times, so unless he has eyes in the back of his head he would have done well to elbow the bloke in the face on purpose.
Ziv, what a fucking div. From where I was sitting, it looked like he'd kicked a water bottle at the linesman, we didn't realise it was his boot until he picked it up! He looked pretty shit anyway, and Huth and Shotton (and the crowd) weren't giving him an easy ride.
The ref was shite.
I'd be dissapointed if we didn't beat them by more in Tel-Aviv, put Walters on to rip 'em to shreds and we could get double figures.

Sorensen 9- had nowt to do and dealt with anything that rarely came his away. All GK's were kept in the lines too.
Huth 10- Just for sending that cunt Ziv flying in front of us with a long crunching tackle. Made a cracking run up the left side in the second half. I miss Huth.
Shawcross- 6 Defensively sound but was a little slow on some decision making on the ball
Upson- 8 Often forgot he was playing, which is testament to how well we defend I suppose.
Shotton- 10 Potential MoM- fucking outstanding display, I think he'll be integral for us in the future.
Wilson- 9 I was really impressed. Looked dangerous going forward and made some decent moves, looked very sharp.
Diao- 6 Surprisingly stayed for the 90, made some decent passes but very slow on decision making and movement.
Whitehead- 8 Good solid Deano performance, looked frustrated with himself at times in the second half.
Etherington- 6 Didn't really impress me again. Would score lower if he hadn't put in some decent crosses. Failed to make runs when he had the opportunity and got carried by Wilson at times. He just looks pissed off all the time.
Jones- 10. Outstanding return. Held the ball up really well, linked really well with Cameron. Hope he keeps it up instead of the winter slump.
Jerome 10- Looked like a black Super John. Unbelievable pace and that goal would have really got his confidence running, shame he got two soft as fuck cards. Is he the new Ric?
Palacios - 8 Put through the sort of pass we've been missing for donkeys. Couldn't gauge his fitness yesterday, I know he's a big youth but he looked a little heavy? Maybe it's the stripes?
Walters- 7 Not much to do by the time he came on, tried to break through and get past a few too many players, which to be fair he's more than capable of.

Sorensen 8 - had nout to do but his kicking seemed better than usual
Huth 9 - looked much better at RB, even bombed forward a few times
Shawcross 8 - was never troubled
Upson 8 - again, never troubled
Wilson 9 - once again, never troubled, looked fantastic going forward on the overlap and defensively sound
Shotton 9 - took him at least 10 minutes to wake up and realise where he was playing but as soon as he did, my goodness, what a great game he had
Diao 7 - if he's quiet, it means he isn't fucking up and that's a good thing
Whitehead 8 - he's good when he can be arsed isn't he?
Etherington 9 - delivery excellent all night, looked a hundred times the out of form player we've seen so far this season. I'm glad he's still pissed off, means he knows he can do better and that can only benefit us
Jones 10 - seeing defenders bounce off him and him single handedly make a mockery of a team is just pure happiness
Jerome 9.5 - fucking stupid first yellow which led to his sending off. But Christ above, he's the typical Stoke City forward and that's brilliant for us
SUBS:
Palacios 8 - he's going to be a very important and top player for us as soon as we get him fully fit
Wilkinson 7 - didn't realise he'd come on, think I'd gone to fetch another can but I'll give him a 7 just for being Wilko
Walters 7 - he's Jon Walters, he's never going to be less than a 7

I actually agree with Jay, thought ethers looked much better than earlier on this season. He was taking on players, nutmegged their rb beautifully at one point, they started kicking him towards the end and he tired I think.
Wilko had one ridiculous shot, that even made TP grin, and that's all I really remembered him doing.
I actually thought that rather than Shawcross' decision making being slow he just looked calm and comfortable on the ball and took his time to pick out his pass. Which is something I'd like him to be working on.

The stadium was shouting 'shoooot' when he had the ball about 30 yards out ;D I'm pretty sure the laughs were loud and clear after the shot, poor Wilko ;D

I think Bruce "fucking" Dyer would've had a field day against them
I'm still in stitches after seeing that defender bounce a good ten foot back off KJ ;D
