Hi, I'm from toonforum.co.uk and we like to ask opposition fans a set of questions before the match to use as part of our pre match build up. The questions are:
1 – How do you think you’ll line up? 2 – How has Stoke’s season gone so far? Happy? 3 – With the January transfer window approaching, are there any areas you need to strengthen? 4 – Do you have any talent coming through your academy? Who are the ‘ones to watch’? 5 – Who should we watch out for / who is your biggest threat? 6 – What is your prediction for Stoke this season? 7 – How do you think Newcastle will do this season? 8 – Who will finish in the top six? Who will go down? 9 – Scoreline prediction? 10 – If your football club was a fruit, what fruit would it be?
Thanks in advance!

1 – How do you think you’ll line up?
Begovic, Cameron, Shawcross, Wilson, Pieters, Whelan, N'Zonzi, Walters, Adam, Arnautovic & Crouch
2 – How has Stoke’s season gone so far? Happy?
We've had a tough fixture list & to be 10th is fantastic, it's still going have up's and down's but survival while playing more attractive football will do me fine at the moment.
3 – With the January transfer window approaching, are there any areas you need to strengthen?
Crouch has been excellent this season, but another striker with a bit of pace and a good goal scoring record.
4 – Do you have any talent coming through your academy? Who are the ‘ones to watch’?
The closest one who will get a game is James Alabi, but Daniel Bachmann has been involved with the first team too. We also signed Julien Ngoy recently who was linked with the global giants of world football.
5 – Who should we watch out for / who is your biggest threat?
Arnautovic has been awful of late, but he'll explode one day and he'll be unplayable. Right now Peter Crouch is on fire in terms of performance and in front of goal
6 – What is your prediction for Stoke this season?
Get a striker in and Top 10 is very attainable in this topsy tervy league
7 – How do you think Newcastle will do this season?
Doing well this season, 8th.
8 – Who will finish in the top six? Who will go down?
Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United & Everton. Go down - Sunderland, Cardiff & Fulham (I hope, can't stand any of them)
9 – Scoreline prediction?
2-0 defeat, you're looking good, but I'd love a point and wouldn't be surprised if it ended in a draw.
10 – If your football club was a fruit, what fruit would it be?
Strawberries, I fucking love strawberries.

I never usually answer these cos after a few replies everyone has already covered what I'd say.
Some general points then:
2. Fans are a lot happier after consecutive home wins against Chelsea and Villa and having some distance between us and the drop zone. But let's not pretend that Hughes's appointment didn't dismay a lot of Stokies (me included) when it was announced. And there were quite a few even calling for him to be sacked when we were near the bottom three after a dozen games!
But I suspect a lot of us looked into his managerial record a bit deeper once he was named and found it to be not as bad as the QPR debacle suggested. The thing that stands out for me is his interviews. He sounds like he has a vision for Stoke which gives me cause for optimism. Whether that vision will come about of course depends on lots of factors, but I like the way he talks about the future.
3. Reliable 15 goal a season striker would be nice to put away the chances Jonathan Walters can't.
7. Newcastle are one of those teams who are hard to predict. They can be up near the top, equally they can struggle. I've no axe to grind with Newcastle, apart from some of the supporters who lean so heavily on past glories to justify Newcastle's status as a big club. You're not. You're one of the 13 clubs who might go down each year. I'd like to see Alan Pardew fail if only because I suspect he's a man who can't pass a reflective surface without blowing a kiss at himself. I'll say 7th.
8. Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd, Everton - C Palace, Cardiff, Sunderland
10. Banana - once we go off, we really go off.

1 – How do you think you’ll line up?
Begovic, Cameron, Shawcross, Wilson, Pieters. Arnautovic, Whelan, Nzonzi, Walters. Ireland, Crouch.
2 – How has Stoke’s season gone so far? Happy?
Ok, a definite change. The football is far better but our tactics in playing either a passing game, long ball or mixture have been totally inconsistent. Sometimes we seem to want to pass it and will happily control a game with possession where as in others we are content on hoofing it again. Begovic, Shawcross, Cameron have been outstanding with Cameron being our most improved player by far.
3 – With the January transfer window approaching, are there any areas you need to strengthen?
A striker that can play on his own, physical, with pace and an eye for goal....If Assaidi returns to liverpool we need a winger, and Id like to see another central midfield player come in or a right back. We've been linked with Micah Richards so id love for that to happen and try Cameron in midfield. Aside from that we need to sell 5 or 6 fringe players and one of our strikers. Crouch/Jones, Etherington, Pennant, Edu, Kightly, Shotton, Jerome, Whelan.
4 – Do you have any talent coming through your academy? Who are the ‘ones to watch’?
Not this year, cant really count Butland as one to watch but its the only one. As this has only been a focus for the last 3 years or so we are a while away yet from producing consistently. The academy itself is one for the future as its fast gaining a reputation but its not quite the production line of players we all want, yet.
5 – Who should we watch out for / who is your biggest threat?
I think Crouch because with all this striker talk he looks hungry and has played well all season. Aside from that Arnautovic can go from the sublime to the ridiculous depending on his mood and depending on if Ireland/Adam plays in the hole both of them know where the goal is.
6 – What is your prediction for Stoke this season?
Depends on January but 9th-15th
7 – How do you think Newcastle will do this season?
8th-14th
8 – Who will finish in the top six? Who will go down?
Arsenal Liverpool Man City Everton Chelsea Man Utd
Relegated: Sunderland Cardiff West Ham
9 – Scoreline prediction?
2 - 2
10 – If your football club was a fruit, what fruit would it be?
Pear
Liked by some, loathed by others. But definitely wouldnt be right if we werent around

1 – How do you think you’ll line up?
Begovic: Cameron, Shawcross, Wilson, Pieters: N'Zonzi, Whelan: Walters, Adam, Assaidi: Crouch.
2 – How has Stoke’s season gone so far? Happy?
It's going better than I thought! We're on a good run of form at the moment (unbeaten in eight) and the lads seem more confident than at the start of the season. We've had some dogshit performances like Norwich at home and Swansea second half away, but they were to be expected during a period of transition.
3 – With the January transfer window approaching, are there any areas you need to strengthen?
A natural goalscorer, another winger and maybe another centre midfielder. The biggest aim for me in the transfer window is to get some of the deadwood such as Edu and Ness off the books.
4 – Do you have any talent coming through your academy? Who are the ‘ones to watch’?
Alabi, Ngoy and Bachmann are the main three. There's Butland as well. But our Academy won't start producing top talent for another few years, all the age groups from Under 13's downwards are highly rated not only in this country, but in Europe.
5 – Who should we watch out for / who is your biggest threat?
Hard to say really, we've always been a "sun of all parts" kind of team and still are. But Geoff Cameron is continuing to improve and will be a menace down the right wing whilst defending extremely well at the same time. Crouch is also having a decent season.
6 – What is your prediction for Stoke this season?
Anywhere between 10th and 17th, it's incredibly tight and a couple of wins can see you climb several places and vice versa. It's a transitional year and staying up whilst adapting to a new system is the one and only objective.
7 – How do you think Newcastle will do this season?
Top ten at a minimum, should finish 6th/7th. Really good team, Pardew's doing a phenomenal job when you consider the clowns in the background in Ashley and Kinnear.
8 – Who will finish in the top six? Who will go down?
Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, Man United. West Brom, Cardiff and Sunderland to go down. It's far harder to predict teams to go down because of how tight it is except for Sunderland who look like gonners.
9 – Scoreline prediction?
2-1 Newcastle, we're still a work in progress, Newcastle are a good team and I'll be happy with a point.
10 – If your football club was a fruit, what fruit would it be?
I'd go with a pear as well. Historically, things go a bit pearshaped for us..

1 – How do you think you’ll line up?
------------Begovic------------ Cameron-Wilson-Shawcross-Pieters -------N'Zonzi-----Whelan-------- Arnautovic ----Ireland----Walters --------------Crouch-------------
2 – How has Stoke’s season gone so far? Happy?
Very up and down, we're obviously taking time to adjust to Hughes so that's meant some very inconsistent performances. We lost to a very poor Norwich side at home, but beat Chelsea. We are getting more consistent and generally better as time goes on though so overall pretty happy.
3 – With the January transfer window approaching, are there any areas you need to strengthen?
Crouch has been brilliant so far, a different player to the one we had last season, but we desperately need a striker with pace and goals in them. I don't think we're desperate for any other positions but we might sign Ireland permanently to free up another loan spot.
4 – Do you have any talent coming through your academy? Who are the ‘ones to watch’?
Not particularly, Julien N'Goy has signed this season with a big reputation but he's still a really young kid and I'm not sure he's actually joined us properly yet. We've spent serious money on the academy infrastructure though and supposedly got the highest score in the gradings they did recently. In a few years that will hopefully pay off, but at the moment no youth players are anywhere near breaking into the first team.
5 – Who should we watch out for / who is your biggest threat?
Arnautovic could be if he turns up, he can be anonymous for most of the game and then do something brilliant from absolutely nowhere. Or he could be a liability and be pulled off at half time. Crouch and Ireland have linked well this season and are a threat, but our best two players by a way so far have been Geoff Cameron at RB and obviously Asmir Begovic.
6 – What is your prediction for Stoke this season?
13th - This was always going to be a difficult season "post-Pulis" so mid-table safety would be something 99% of us would have taken at the start and I think we're on track for it. If we buy well in January and whichever new striker we sign does the job, we could even push for top ten which would be great, but possibly not realistic at the moment.
7 – How do you think Newcastle will do this season?
8th - Pretty average start but you've obviously been very good recently. Definitely a top ten team on the pitch but God knows about off it! Joe Kinnear ;D
8 – Who will finish in the top six? Who will go down?
Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, Everton (no particular order,) - Sunderland, Cardiff, Villa.
9 – Scoreline prediction?
2-0 Newcastle. I'd be chuffed if we could get a draw, especially with Spurs (A), Liverpool and Everton (H) coming up afterwards, any points at all would be nice from that run!
10 – If your football club was a fruit, what fruit would it be?
The durian. Tough and spiky - like our players, and smells so bad it is banned by most airlines - like our fans.

All other questions answered but I'll go with Vomit Fruit, because we make the rest of the league sick (especially Wenger, who tends to have a near death experience when he faces us)
Edit: So does Ramsey who continues to rise from the dead (of a broken leg) with ever increasing levels of fawnication.

1 – How do you think you’ll line up?
Begovic, Cameron, Shawcross, Wilson, Pieters, Whelan, N'Zonzi, Walters, Adam, Ireland (is he serving a ban or something? )& Crouch
2 – How has Stoke’s season gone so far? Happy?
To be 10th at Christmas is pretty brilliant when at the start of the season I'd have taken 17th at any point through the season. Considering we're actually evolving the football and Hughes is slowly implementing his philosophy, we're doing well. I can't even say I'm aggravated at the silly points we've dropped (Norwich, Swansea, Cardiff) as the league is so unpredictable this year. We're not the full package yet but we'll get there and are looking pretty competent.
3 – With the January transfer window approaching, are there any areas you need to strengthen?
By not adding a striker in August, we've kind of shot ourselves in the foot as we'll have to pay over the odds in January. We need to bite the bullet and sink a sizeable amount on a reliable striker.
4 – Do you have any talent coming through your academy? Who are the ‘ones to watch’?
Absolutely no idea.
5 – Who should we watch out for / who is your biggest threat?
St. Cameron is playing out of his skin at the moment and is as decent defending as he is going forward. Putting in pearler's of crosses and is linking up well with others. On his day Arnautovic could be a real threat, problem is is finding it difficult to make his mark in games.
6 – What is your prediction for Stoke this season?
Difficult to say as we're peddling out decent results but it only takes a few poor games to get sunk back in. I'd say 14th-15th but we have the ability to sneak into 10th if any new signings settle in quickly.
7 – How do you think Newcastle will do this season?
Again, it's difficult to say. I don't think this run of form well last, anywhere between 8th - 11th.
8 – Who will finish in the top six? Who will go down?
Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea, Everton. If I could use all 3 to make sure Sunderland go down, that'd be excellent. Back in the real world, Sunderland, Fulham and either Hull, West Brom or Cardiff depending on their respective managerial situations.
9 – Scoreline prediction?
Hopeful 1-1.
10 – If your football club was a fruit, what fruit would it be?
Peach. Still hard at the core but we've got more soft shites on the books than we would under Pulis.
Merry Christmas, hope your Boxing day is a shitter.

1 – How do you think you’ll line up? Sorensen, Wilkinson, Muniesa, Wilson, Shea, Pennant, Palacios, Edu, Etherington, Jones, Shawcross
2 – How has Stoke’s season gone so far? Happy? Shit. No.
3 – With the January transfer window approaching, are there any areas you need to strengthen? Goalkeeper. Begovic just isn't up to it and Sorensen is like 54 or something.
4 – Do you have any talent coming through your academy? Who are the ‘ones to watch’? Andy Wilkinson seems to be the only one who'll graduate with honours
5 – Who should we watch out for / who is your biggest threat? Maurice Edu. Powerful midfielder in the Sissoko mould. Will probably tear you the shreds if you give him too much space to execute his talent
6 – What is your prediction for Stoke this season? A couple more Lidl supermarkets and a new Bon Marche in and around Cobridge
7 – How do you think Newcastle will do this season? No comment
8 – Who will finish in the top six? Who will go down? Top 6 - Chelsea, Everton, Stoke, Man City, Arsenal, Sunderland (in no particular order) Bottom 3 - Newcastle, Palace, Norwich (in no particular order)
9 – Scoreline prediction? Newcastle 1 - 3 Stoke
10 – If your football club was a fruit, what fruit would it be? A banana. A really dirty banana that is regularly rammed between the buttocks of our opponents
11 - What is your favourite semi-aquatic animal? Easy. The humble otter

1 – How do you think you’ll line up?
Begovic: Cameron, Wilson, Shawcross, Pieters: Walters, Whelan, NZonzi, Ireland, Arnautovic: Crouch
2 – How has Stoke’s season gone so far? Happy?
It's been pretty good. The world hasn't ended post Pulis, like some thought it would. There's been some difficult games but we look to have improved the attacking from open play and away performances side of things while mostly retaining the previous positive facets of our game (being relatively defensively sound, doing well at home)
3 – With the January transfer window approaching, are there any areas you need to strengthen?
Another forward as an alternative to Crouch would be good.
4 – Do you have any talent coming through your academy? Who are the ‘ones to watch’?
Probably, but I imagine those who might feasibly 'make it' as a top level footballer have about four pubes between them.
5 – Who should we watch out for / who is your biggest threat?
Difficult to say. Any from Crouch/Ireland/Adam/Assaidi/Arnautovic could lay claim to being the biggest threat, but our best attacking performances seem to come when Geoff Cameron rips off his shirt to reveal a tattoo of an eagle on his chest and charges forward from full back shouting "USA! USA!"
6 – What is your prediction for Stoke this season?
Top half would be nice, anywhere from 9th to 17th would be realistic for us and a lot of other teams.
7 – How do you think Newcastle will do this season?
Depends. I think Cabaye has sort of committed himself to staying until the end of the season, but if he was sold/unsettled in January I think you'd struggle. Luckily, you've got a lot of players trying to stake their claim for a world cup place, so I think you'll see good performances until the summer. As long as Kinnear and Ashley don't pull some daft shite, and Pardew lets your players get on with it, I think you'll do very well (7th or 8th)
8 – Who will finish in the top six? Who will go down?
(Top six) Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton, Man Utd.
(Relegated) Fulham, Cardiff, Sunderland
9 – Scoreline prediction?
Walters to win it in the 90th minute with a scrappy goal.
10 – If your football club was a fruit, what fruit would it be?
The orange peel you put in your baccy when it's gone a bit dry. (That's a metaphor for the effect of Hughes on the club, by the way. It's not super-duper brand new baccy, but at least the old stuff is a bit less harsh now.)

Questions to Newcastle Fans
1) Tsunami means "harbour wave" in Japanese, what is your favourite type of natural disaster? 2) The "Hanley of the North", is known as the Bigg Market. What are Bigg's and how much do they cost? Is there a Smalllll market as well? 3) Newcastlers are well known for their love of going out in january without coats, are cloakrooms really expensive in Newcastle. 4) Many of us find your lady folks accents to be rather delicious, do you agree or just dont notice? 5) Newcastle upon Tyne got its name becasue the old castle was knocked down by a giant fork, whereas Newcastle Under Lyme got its name when a freak tornado desposited 2 million limes onto the village, ironically, during the Tequilla Festival of 575 ad. Are you aware of any other Castle themed towns that are under or on unusual objects? 6) The "Del Boy Falling over" clip is named as the funniest comedy moment ever, however, it is less known that the Andy Caroll Transfer rates as the second. What did you spend your share of the money on? 7) Cheryl Cole obviously likes a bit of dark, but is her tatooed arse too much? 8) Do you think the Kane Gang over egged the pudding my milking the shit out of Small Town Creed by getting the Gary Davies jingle AND the Byker Grove theme song out of it? 9) Ant and Dec, which one is which? 10) What biscuits do people from Newcastle favour. If you were to sign an actual biscuit for the team, what type would it be?
