I've been fourteen years elsewhere but everything has its time.

Thank you. No naked bodies, that's fine, I wasn't planning on any.  I wouldn't call anyone a c..., let alone a moderator. Yeah it seems quieter but I'm ok with that. I'll be here every week for the matchday threads, and either moaning about Hughes or praising him, depending on which way the wind blows that day. |

banned? Left through choice? Banned, sadly. I haven't been given a reason or any prior warning as to conduct... My best guess is that last night, after the Chelsea game, I said the f-word a few too many times. 14 years a member, and I get a permanent ban for one transgression. |

I was negative on Saturday because I felt we threw it away. Again. I'm not always negative. I find it astonishing that after fourteen years as regular poster, posting "fuck" a few times gets me a lifetime ban from a football message board! Or perhaps they'd had enough of my views. Maybe you're not allowed to be overcritical of the team. I don't know or particularly care. It's disappointing they couldn't have messaged me and asked me to cut out the swearing. I mean, it's a football board - being a bit pissed off after a defeat is surely something they might expect could happen. Perhaps there's a different reason, if so I have no idea what it is since they have not responded to my email either. Shabby way to treat people, at a time when forums generally are gradually losing out to Facebook and other social media platforms. If I'd been there five minutes I could perhaps understand. I think it's shoddy in the extreme, but I won't be losing any sleep over it. |

I'm aware there's something about it in the description for the SCFC forum, but so many people swear - including quite a few directly at me - that I honestly never saw it as an issue and all my swearing is actually meant in humour. And to be fair, in fourteen years I've hardly ever sworn, I just said the f word a few times on Saturday because we lost. Is that really so bad? On a football message board? really? All they had to do was message me and say listen mate pack that in or you'll be out on your earhole, and I'd have happily complied. I'm quite a civil type. Yet they went straight for the ban hammer with no explanation, warning or acknowledgement. I emailed them asking what had gone on, and also asking them to close / delete the account (which it seems they do do, judging by the number of former posters showing as 'guest'), but I've had nothing back. The other thing I notice, is that having denied me the right to reply, they are now allowing others to attack and insult me knowing I can't respond back. Pretty low stuff really. They should at least mark my account with 'Banned' under the title so people are aware what's happened. Most forums do that. I've run forums myself for nearly twenty years, I know how all this stuff works. Their attitude is bewildering. |
