Another point, my daughter (7 yo) is de to go on a school trip to London including use of the tube. I said months ago she shouldn't go (I stand by it) so am I "giving in to terrorism" or using common sense to protect my offspring?

I wouldn't take her to major French / german / Spanish / Turkish cities either where explosives & automatic weapons are more readily available.
