Peter and John Coates have made a statement today which I feel is quite a fair statement. No mention of Lambert gives me hope that we will get rid. Lambert wants to stay (obviously). www.stokecityfc.com/news/club-statement-16John Percy in the Telegraph suggests Lambert has a 'break clause' in his 2.5 year contract in which he or the club can terminate the contract, and this is possible until June. He suggests Lambert insisted on the clause and has done at his previous 2 clubs. Presumably to suggest an air of confidence in his ability and help him secure jobs. www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/05/07/paul-lambert-future-stoke-thrown-doubt-contract-break-clause/Charlie Adam has had his say on BBC Radio 5 Live last night. I though he came across quite well and the segment is well worth a listen on the iPlayer. He suggests a 'leadership group' of 8-9 players who tried to control and discipline the dressing room but to no avail, and suggested there are 4-5 problem players in there (Berahino, Afellay, Jese,Choupo-Moting I'd guess are involved). He also spoke about the struggle to replace Arnautovic and Bojan's exile. Adam echoed Butland's sentiment of recruitment being to blame for relegation. Butland has been linked to Wolves with Stoke wanting £40m+. Swiss papers are suggesting Shaqiri has a €14.5m release clause, presumably a big factor in us being able to sign him. Joe Allen has been linked with Newcastle and it's suggested we value him at £25m, although there is no credible source for it. I'd want more. There are also rumours next door that Robert Huth is coming home! Roll on the 2018/19 Championship - some cracking away days and the possibility of winning some games. I hope Southampton are in it with us! Fixtures are released on 21st June, and the season begins on Saturday 4th August, with the World Cup on in the mean time.

I'm just glad it's finally over for us (the season, not the adventure)
Few good honest hardworking players and who knows. Realistically Shaq Butland Allen are as good as gone
Personally would love to keep badou and bauer. Hope bojan returns for preseason and is the bojan we know he can be, but can't see it unfortunately. Choupo should be a cracker for the championship, but think he will be off to Europe somewhere

Sentinel suggesting we are hoping to attract Dwight Gayle from Newcastle. He fired them to promotion 2 years ago scoring 23. www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfer-newcastle-united-1546531?321I'm not sure how this works if we are to get rid of Lambert/Cartwright/Scholes? I hope to god it doesn't mean they are staying! The article alludes to a complete overhaul although it does say we hope Joe Allen will stay. Personally I'd cash in on Allen. He's alright and I like him and his effort/commitment but he has far too little influence on a game. We could do much better in my opinion, even in the league below.

Im worried that hauggard has been on the bench, he needs to go asap. Keep Grant, Shawcross, BMI, Bauer, Pieters, Ndiaye, the rest can probably go.

I couldn’t give any less of a fuck about him leaving. He’s been great to watch sometimes. It’s just a shame we won’t make a profit on him.

Shaqiri-hating Stoke fans are the 'gammon' equivalents of Twitter Brexiteers. Unfortunate that he's had his best season for us in such a cat piss side.
That said, I'd still rank him behind Arnautovic, Etherington, Pennant, Moses, pre-injury Odemwingie and peak Walters as a wide option, so maybe they have a point!
