Anyone been out drinking since the pubs reopened?
I haven't bothered yet. Most of the folks I drink with are frequenting Wetherspoons and I just cannot be arsed with that. Also I often like to pop out to one of the local pubs for a quick pint on my own occasionally but having to wait outside for a table to become available and then have to give them my contact details before ordering a beer and taking a whole table to my self while a group of people outside are giving me evil looks isn't my idea of enjoyment.

Welcome to the new world. Still very bizarre when you think about it.

PS - I refer you to the debacle that is the Shit and Wanker in Stone, the story of which cropped up on Reuters as well as other worldwide news sites, and became so bad, Dustin Hoffman was called in to deal with the issue

Re the above story, the landlord of the pup appears to be called "Custodio Pinto" , is this a piss take or the definitive case of nominative determinism??

Well I think with the increased flatulence that ale causes, and the fact that we are told effluent contains the virus, shouldn't masks be worn on the backside?
The government are being extremely careless again.

I've been out to bars a lot in America still. Most things open here - life not all that different.

That Vietnamese bloke will be turning up with a casino barge next. Still, he posts more often than most on here which is why he's still with us I imagine.

I,ve been to a few pub beer gardens since lock down was relaxed but there are too many knobs who can't keep out of other people's space. No wonder cases of covid are back on the rise.

Hope we never have to go back to all the COVID pub issues. Finally looks like the pandemic is almost over even though COVID 19 might be here to stay in one form or an other.
Lots of pub beer gardens have improved as a result of COVID. It's been a great summer to enjoy them too

Its a funny one that. The forecast was for a really poor summer because of La Nina in the south pacific interrupting the jetstreams and allowing westerly fronts to dominate our weather, yet I would call this a pretty good summer.
I agree that entrepreneurial business owners (sometimes) aided by sensible local authorities have embraced the "boulevardier culture", even the wasps have joined in and not descended on every cider drinker in the world.
I remember the first pint I had in a pub after the whole lockdown thing, I may have cried a bit. Going out for a pint is a fundamental human right!
