I went to watch Stevenage v Derby, Stevenage won 1-0 quite easily, could have been more.
Derby don't look great at all 😁

We still don't look as sharp as we should in these friendly matches but we haven't put out anything close to what our starting eleven will be yet so not sure how much to read into a few piss poor results. We look like we have changed our style and are getting the ball forward quicker and being more direct.
No need to panic just yet!

1-0 down at half time. Haven't played too badly but not creating many chances. Brown had a good chance from a pass/ cross by Laurent but twatted his shot over the bar. Hearts probably deserve their lead.

We have scored a goal. Lovely passing and a good cross from Tymon for Tyrese Campbell to beat the keeper.
It's all over after 3 seconds of injury time. 2-1 defeat but glad we finally scored a goal.

Young Connor Taylor looks a good prospect. New signing Smallbone could be very decent and Dwight Gayle did fairly well and should get sharper with a few games under his belt.

I was quite impressed with Smallbone and Gayle will only improve with a couple of games under his belt. He was ok but lacked a bit of edge that only competitive games can hone.
The big worry for me was the alarming ease in which Hearts breezed through the midfield with the ball once our attacks broke down. Pretty much the same as last season.
I know it’s just another friendly and it’s cost us zero points but I really hope they tighten up once the season starts at Millwall..

Haven't seen any preseason Stoke games, away with work and at a wedding on Saturday, hopefully we'll improve come Saturday
