Couldn't give a fuck about Engerrrland to be honest. Same shit different day.
The only football I'm interested in is Stoke City. For good or bad it's been a part of me for all my 66 years and it will never change.
I will die a Stoke City fan.

I did and i was proud of us that day. Yes I did watch it and as a boy actually went to Wembley to watch an England game. I think it was an under 21 game. I was interested in our national team as a boy, but as I've got older, the ludicrous hype about England, the exceptionalism and hubristic bollocks on show, the over the top jingoism. It just switched me off. Now I just find it embarrassing. Add to that constantly losing players to various fucking national teams, and the injuries that follow. Fuck that. I'll leave it to the lardarses who look like swollen balloons with an overpriced England kit stretched over it, or the cowardly wannabe hard boys who are really pansies when not in a large group. Fuck em. |

To be fair, thats how I felt during the Lampard/Gerard/Rooney era, then one day a few years later, I caught an England game in a pub (bearing in mind I live in Ireland) where many of the England team were kids I'd never heard of and they were playing exciting football, then I started to pay a bit of interest again, we actually looked good most of the time. I though Southgate was a solid manager. |
