Season after season we get better, and look at the calibre of players we are signing, I really believe we can get top 6 this season, I look at the league and I believe that theres only Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham who are better than us, just how far can we go this season and in the long run?

It could be a good season, my concerns are with the ammount of football we will play with all the europa games. Tiredness and injuries will start to affect us at some point so it all depends how well TP can rotate the squad and who else can come in in January to help carry us to the end.
The manager does tend to play very defensively away from home and indeed at home against the big guns and rightly so. It will be interesting to see how we approach home games against Swansea, Blackburn, Norwich etc. I think then we will have a better idea of what we are capable of this season and where we are likely to finish.
Im loving it up to yet though ;D ;D ;D

I'm still worried about away games.

We wont challenge the top 6 this season, purely because of Europe.
Agree that away games are shite and they need sorting out fast.

So we finished 13th last season-our lowest finish in the PL in 3 seasons and now people are thinking we're top 6 material.
Irrespective of who we signed-top 6 is still a few years away!!

To early in the season to say who will or won't be better than us. But I suspect-Man U,Man C, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs,Arsenal,Villa,Everton will be too good for us this season. We may make 8th,9th would be great! And a big step forward.

Everton are in decline and were better than Villa imo, 8th or 9yh is my prediction though, although I wouldnt be surprised to see ud make top 6

I think people are getting carried away.
Someone on the Sunday Supplement said there's no reason why we can't hold onto 4th place and challenge Spurs/Arsenal for it.
Fuck off.
As long as we finish 17th or higher I'm happy.
Realistically we should be 7th-13th though.
No fears about relegation.
Swansea/Norwich look diabolical. Blackburn, Wigan, Wolves will flirt with the last place. QPR may have enough quality. Sunderland, Bolton, Fulham, Everton- Never rule out a surprise.

Fuck it, Crouch will get 42 goals in all competitions and we'll win the Carling Cup, get to the semi's of the FA Cup, Last 16 of the Europa and finish 5th in the Prem.

Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham. 6 teams streets ahead of us. We are nowhere near competing for 6th. You're either pissed or imagining we've signed Messi or something. Staying in the Prem is amazing, especially with the long trips in Europe. I agree 17th would be disappointing, but it's better than going down.

Or have a different opinion to you I agree that all those teams mentioned will finish above us, if any one of those teams could be caught out then its Arsenal, although its unlikely. As I have said, I think we will finish 8th or 9th but wouldnt be surprised to see us snatch 6th

My original post was aimed more towards the long run of how far we can go under this regime

same as last season, mid table will do, the europa will take its toll a bit, we have 3 keepers in the squad, and with 3 long term injuries we only have 19 outfield players to choose. Injuries, suspensions and tireness will take its toll in November/december I think. Hope I'm wrong though and we stay injury and suspension free, then having mama, ric and higgy back will be a boost
