Finding life a bit tougher now-3 down to Swindon tonight at home.
That makes it 9 conceded in the last 2 matches.
Just shows money can't always buy you success.

Just shows money can't always buy you success. Man City FA Cup winners 2011, and joint first in the Prem ? Doesn't that just piss all over that argument

Doesn't that just piss all over that argument Crawley don't have a bottomless pit of money or a decent manager. Any team with loads of money for their level and have a toss manager will always struggle for success. If Crawley had someone like Micky Adams, they'd be top seven minimum

Rarely, I'm with Dave on this one.
Robbie Savage was on about this in relation to Man City after they'd beaten us in the Final on 606.
He said the same - it doesn't guarantee you success. I tried to call in. I wanted to ask him four questions:
1. How much did Man City pay for Yaya Toure - £24m 2. How much does he get paid - £221,000 a week, £1.65m a year image rights, £823,000 bonus every time MC qualify for CL 3. Who scored the winner in the semi v ManU - Yaya Toure 4. Who scored the winner in the final v Stoke - Yaya Toure
Really wish I'd got on! Would love to have heard what he said in response!

"Money can't always buy you success" in fact if you went listing clubs that chucked money around and were successful you'd only prove the original statement more correct.

Leeds and Portsmouth two of the more prominent examples that money can't always buy you success (I'm going off the basis that buying success gets you to a point where you can sustain or justify the expenditure - like Chelsea).
It can't always rain, just because it rained yesterday that is hardly proof that it always rains.

Name a club who HASN'T spent vast sums of money, on players, or managers, or their acadamy who has achieved success then ?

Considering success is relative (particularly if we're talking about Crawley) then most teams who get into the professional leagues and stay there are successful without spending huge amounts. Also what time scale is relevant, you make it so broad and unrefined that you can easily dismiss any claim anyone makes because you haven't put forth any parameters of success.
If AFC Wimbledon stay up this year I'd say they have been extremely successful in the last few years, they haven't spent significantly at all as far as I'm aware but have continued to climb through the leagues.
How much did clubs like Doncaster spend getting to the championship and almost making the play-offs? That is successful for a club like Doncaster, if Brighton have a good year this season they will be seen as pretty successful and haven't been spending 'vast' sums. Swansea, Norwich another couple of examples - if either of those manage to stay up this season they will have been incredibly successful. Burnley and Blackpool before achieved notable success (even if its only short-lived as you never said it had to be sustained success, or progressive success) so there is plenty of examples out there.
Still all of that doesn't in any way make your statement of Man City and the FA cup at all logical. It's a good deflection completely missing the point though mind ;D
