I probably wouldn't go as far as to call them an acquired taste, but they are/were definitely an 'album' band. Euros Childs (lead singer/songwriter etc) does the Gorky's stuff solo on piano these days, which is a happy medium between staying true to the original sound and doing something a bit different and is (probably) a bit more engaging than the full group playing live back in the day.

Not really a MSP fan myself... too many big choruses and political statements, not enough introverted whimsy ;D
