Can't wait to play this, my most anticapated release since GTA4.
I've pre loaded it on steam and will start raping it tonight ;D
Got work at 1 tomorrow so I think getting to bed about 5-6 should be fine tonight.

It's fucking amazing!
Was delivered this morning and I've been stuck at a conference on youth marketing all day wanting to get home and play it.
It's quite different to Oblivion, it's sort of taken the best bits of Oblivion and then redone the rest, only thing I don't like is how the lockpicking is exactly the same as in Fallout.

I'm pirating it now, if only I'd looked yesterday I could have been playing it early! Less than 30 minutes to go for me.

Wowzers is all I can say, this is the most i've enjoyed a game since San Andreas.
Massive fan of Oblivion but this is just in another world for me, some of the scenery is awe inspiring, i've spent more time taking screenshots than actually playing I think ;D
Just got arse raped by my first dragon too ;D
Fucking work can fuck the fuck off though.
Playing on PC btw!

I think the problem I had with Fallout was I bought the GOTY edition with all the dlc. Was OK in the vault until you we're left to your own devices and I started unknowingly doing the dlc missions and it didn't make sense.
I'm watching streams online though and I thought this had a new engine in? The movement and interaction of the characters look the same as Fallout 3?

It's probably the next generation of the same engine, like with unreal 1, 2, 3 etc each one is a 'new engine' but is built from the old one. The graphics are a lot better than Fallout I'm finding, still some occassional errors where textures don't match up but the way the environment is seems to be the major upgrade. The movement is a little better but not a great deal, it still doesn't look all that right when you move diagonally in 3rd person for example but its better than fallout where you were just running forwards but somehow going sideways too.

I bought this last night, going to give it a whirl in a minute.
I'm new to the RPG genre, tried Oblivion but wrote it off as 'not my cup of tea' after I got past the long winded intro, left the castle and just cluelessly wandered around not knowing what to do.
I'm in the mood for a proper immersive game right now though and I'm fed up of people bumming it on Facebook. I want to see what all the fuss is about, even the bird on the checkouts where I bought it was like "arghhh this game is amazing".

Interesting. Let me know how you get on. Decided I'm going to get it for Christmas instead of Need for Speed, which has had some gash reviews and If I could get enough opinions similar to myself that have never tried it and find it's amazing. I've literally just set the laptop up to watch the first hour of it on Gametrailers.
Like yourself, I want to proper dive into an impressive game and geek it up. I'm actually a little jealous of the people that are proper into it.

Very good so far, even though I have just been stealing and selling on cheese for a couple of hours. I don't even know what I'm selling it for... or why I'm stealing it, I just know that it makes me happy.
I likes it.

It's pretty heavy and you'll probably get killed a lot (I do as a quite experienced Elder Scrolls player).
It's very improved from Oblivion, archery is actually quite powerful now which is good.
Main story line seems decent as well. Saying that I've barely started on what I think is the main quest, not sure between the war between the Stormcloaks and the Empire or the Dragonborn quest which is really main.

So it's not 'cheese dealer-rim'? I have literally just dealt in cheese since I started. Did all that cut-scene bit at the beginning (which was good), went to the nearest town and sold my cheese... walked in someones house and got their cheese, so went back to sell it. I then went to somebody else's house, stole their cheese and sold it... then I walked around, found some berries, thought that I could add these to some cheese back at the pub... got sidetracked by realising that you could steal cheese from the pub, then it all kicked off. Now I'm en route to another town to see what kind of cheese they've got. I don't know how I've been sucked into this cheese-quest, but I'm enjoying it.

Stealing is a very big part of Elder Scrolls games. Especially fairly pointless and often worthless objects that you steal because they look pretty, or food to sell.
You're actually getting more into the spirit of the game than you think.

The whole point of the game is that you do and act as you want to, if you want to go clearing out towns you can, kill everyone and everything in sight. You can do as much or as little of the main story quests and still end up powerful, you could just decide to become a protector of a town you make your home, take on the bounty quests for some extra money, become a thane and live a relaxed life doing little besides what you want. I'm enjoying exploring dungeons and selling the items I get from them so I'm sat on about 50k gold with a chest in whiterun easily worth the same. You don't even have to fight dragons if you don't want to, here's one I snuck right under, took the power word and left without the dragon ever knowing. [/img]
