There must be plenty of nominees but my vote goes to the one opposite the Sheet Anchor in Baldwins Gate. The place stinks, ancient staff with dirty overalls and hasnt seen a coat of paint inside since 73. If ever there was a place that rivals the shop in `League of Gentlemen` its this one

Anyone remember Shah's in bucknall? Great little corner shop (although it wasn't actually on a corner). Mr Shah man sold me cider when i was 12 ;D

when i was wee, the "smelly shop" (as it was oh so cryptically known in my household) around the corner from the good end of blurton on trentham road fucking stunk.
it's been a bargain booze/thoroughgoods for a while now, and i hadn't been in there years before that anyway, but i still remember the smell distinctly! smelled like rancid turkish delight mixed with sperm.
right by the counter they had a spinning rack thing with loads of 80's and 90's porn videos. nice!
