I fucking love Boxing Day football and what's even better this year is that there's plenty of time to drink before the game with it being a late kickoff ;D
I'm going with 2-1 Stoke
Walters and Etherington

Actually get to go to this one so all you regular match day threaders can go and bum a dead dog.
Oh and we'll probably lose for the same reason.

GameOf_2Halves Game Of 2 Halves Darren Bent is said to be winning his fitness race ahead of Aston Villa's Boxing Day clash with Stoke.

Will hopefully win but could go either way I reckon, one of my best mates at Uni is a Villa fan and he's not confident

Villa were awful against Liverpool, their defence was all over the place and thats something we could really exploit with set pieces. As long as we get plenty of movement in and around their box I think things will drop for us. Our recent display at Citeh was a complete contrast to previous games, we seemed to have admitted defeat before kick off, but Boxing Day will see us return to tried and tested `up and at `em` approach and we will end the day with three points and a 2-0 victory ;D

The game is ours to lose, I think.

With our good form (fuck the City game) and Villa being the worst team in the league for defending corners I can see us scoring at least 2, so as long as we stay solid at the back it's a routine 3 points.
As long as nothing stupid happens like giving away an early soft goal, then I'll go for a 3-0 win; Crouch, Shawcross and Walters.

I think they'll score early on from a stupid mistake, it'll get everyone's backs up and we'll go on to win 3-1.

I think we'll lose 2-1. We'll score an early goal and everyone will think "great, routine win", then we'll piss about towards the end of the first half and they'll equalise on 42 minutes. Second half we'll then come out all pumped up and bombard their goal up to 70 minutes missing 2 sitters and having a decent shout for a penalty turned away. They'll score a soft goal in the 86th minute to win it.

Lawro's Predictions...
Stoke were on a really good run until they were outplayed by Manchester City on Wednesday but Potters boss Tony Pulis made quite a few changes for that game and I think he did so with this match in mind.
Matthew Etherington didn't play at the Etihad and he will be back, as will Ryan Shawcross, who was suspended, and possibly Peter Crouch, who was ill.
Villa's performance against Liverpool last weekend was disappointing but they should have got something out of their game against Arsenal in midweek. If you are a Villa fan, you must be wondering why they can't play the way they did against the Gunners regularly, and be ultra-competitive.
They just weren't competitive at all against Liverpool and it was the same in their home game against Manchester United at the start of December, which is quite unusual for a team managed by Alex McLeish.
Villa lost all three of those games, but it was only the Arsenal game where they gave it a good go, and also gave themselves a better chance of winning it. They really have got to go to Stoke and play the same way.
But because it is Stoke and because I don't know whether Darren Bent is going to be fit for Villa, I am backing Stoke to get back to winning ways.
Prediction: Stoke City 2-1 Aston Villa
