One of the "lads" who was in the group I ran with on Saturday turned 75 last year. He's entered the next 5 year age band so he's starting to smash the local records. 47 minutes for the Telford 10K in December and 39 minutes for the Alsager 5 a few weeks back. He did 17.5 seriously hilly miles last Saturday in training for next months Stafford 20. Just to update I spoke to this "lad" today. He did just on 3 hours at the recent 20 mile race which puts him number one in the rankings with UK Athletics not only this season but since records began in 2006 ;D I assume that was AL, he's inspirational really. I, on the other hand was 11th from last at the Cloud 9 fell race a fortnight ago. Nice view from the top of the cloud though

40 minutes today 10K race in those helpful conditions. Not quite as bad as the last two miles of the World Half marathon championship in Cardiff yesterday for poor Mo Farah. Thought he was going to be blown off the course at one point ;D

The lad that won went sub 8.00...... Maybe....... 400m I reckon. He goes to Notts AC every week and they do a bit of everything - running, chucking and jumping. As long as he hasn't got to kick or hit something he will be fine.

Chucking you say, my lad and his mates are getting quite good at that.

Cheshire 10k today - 44.22, blitzed my 3 year old 10k PB of 45.12 202 out of over 1100 runners, not quite sure where I was in the over 50's age group who says you get slower as you get older
