Don't understand the team selection one bit, good result though. You don't understand Pulis picking a team that got us a point away at a top 6 club?

I don't understand why people take the piss out of Carroll's price-tag. He was my 'man of the match' today for an outstanding defensive performance; he took the sting out of every one of the Liverpool crosses/set-pieces by flinging himself to the ground and if it wasn't for his blocks we could have easily been 2 down with no hope of coming back into it.
He probably isn't worth £35million just yet but with a few more performances like that he'll get there, no doubt.
Andy Carroll - MOTM - if he carries on like this then he's in real danger of becoming a Stoke City legend.

So you're saying if you were Tone, you too would have left Pennant on the bench, played Delap on the right instead of Pennant and even if you weren't playing Pennant left Shotton on the bench too? Didn't think so.

I deeply apologize, the other points in my post still stand.

Fantastic result - great to get over the 30 point mark especially away at Liverpool.
I always relax a little once we're there.
Well done all involved and a fitting way to celebrate 400 games in charge for Tone.

West Brom at home next!!!!!!!!!!
Shall we wait for the Man Utd game for the next match thread? Not like the WBA result will be at all surprising.

What is the fucking point in that? All the cunt can do is throw it long and he takes it short, fucking hell. Delap you knobhead. Clever move if you ask me. Waste a bit of time winding up for the big one then drop it short for Ric to try and hold in the corner. He was unlucky not to win another throw from it. Lobbing it in would have ended up with us losing posesssion and putting us back under pressure. Having worked so hard all game you do what needs to be done to protect the point. Well done Rory, clever, very clever

Never really looked like winning today but then again nether did Liverpool. Good all-round performance by the whole team, pleased with that!
Liverpool were left with trying to cheat to win penelties as the only way they would score. Fortunatly Mr. Webb wasn't going to fall for that.
In short: a good point for Stoke and a big fuck off to Dalglish and his cunting gaylord team.

What amuses me most is the ongoing desperation of Dalglish to justify that £35mill transfer fee.
Got to be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, wastes of cash ever.
A £5 mill player at best, about the same as Jones I'd say.

Chuck Ric and Crouch in the box and have a go, we'd still have 9 behind the ball if they had time to break. Instead throw it short to somebody who isn't expecting it, let them fumble it out for a throw and give Liverpool possesion. Clever, very clever.

Andy Carroll - £35 million. J Henderson - £16-20million. S Downing - £18 million. C Adam - £7 million.
Have you ever seen so much money spunked on average players?
Andy Carroll probably earned us a point by taking the sting out of every cross they put in by going to ground, he also made 2 vital blocks.
J Henderson was quiet... at home up against Delap. There's no hope.
Stewart Downing troubled us less than Etherington troubled them (to be fair to Downing it's not like he had anybody in the box to get a cross in to, he was replaced by their only threat in the box which was a bit of a mystery, nice one Kenny).
Charlie Adam, he'll look good on the MOTD highlights for a couple of long range passes where he came deep giving himself all the time in the world but when he was in the thick of it (against one of the most basic midfields in the league) he added absolutely nothing.
I wonder what gems they'll find in January (I wonder if any of them will be black).

Without seeing any of the game today, I'd say the comments on here show what we and others have been saying for ages. Without the (cheating) genius of Suarez they're very average.

We were in the 94th minute away at Liverpool not at home to Bolton though. A point is a fantastic result for Stoke. Liverpool are not the team they once were but they still have quality, quality that can really hurt you with three or four quick passes. Why take the gamble ? I just think Rory did the right thing, trying to keep it in their corner and run the clock down.

A £5 mill player at best, about the same as Jones I'd say. No Chelsea did that one on Torres Good point. Although I think Torres will come good again elsewhere, or maybe at Chelsea, but I just don't see a potential player in Carroll at all. His England performance summed him up, a big lump to knock balls at (not to!). Sidibe-esque for 35 mill ;D
