Gonna feel a right twat when i get up tomorrow afternoon (night shift worker so im allowed the lie in) and realise i started such a stupid fucking thread......on the other hand it could turn out to be a classic! |

Im off to bed but before i do, ive said before and i'll say it again. We were members of Burslem Golf Course and their junior section. This one particular afternoon we were preparing for a junior competition on the practice putting area when Robbie suddeley announced "Lads im jacking in golf to become a popstar" We (about 7 of us) all turned round to him, laughed and took the piss out of him. Then 12 months later Take That started releasing songs. The rest is history and im made to look fucking stupid cos i never took any photo's of Robbie unlike my old best mate and next door neighbour. True story.  |

This may be me remembering something completely wrong but I'm sure I have played football once with Gordon Banks....
When I was about 5/6 I went to watch my Uncle play for his pub team and I soon got bored and saw an old man playing with 2 kids about the same age as me so I asked if I could join in and started playing with them, being kids they asked me who I supported and obviously I said Stoke then the old man said he used to be Stoke's goalkeeper, I didn't ask his name not wanting to be rude but I'm sure that one of his eye's was not quite right e.g didn't move when the other did.
It was when I was about 10 I was talking with mates about old Stoke players when someone mentioned Banksys career being cut short due to a car accident and him losing an eye that I clicked.
Like I say it may have not been him, he definitely said he played for stoke though I remember that, It could have been Carl Muggleton for all I knew. ;D
