The Leon story looks really good. The new guy looks alright but it looks like it's going to be a co-op game like Resi 5 which is bollocks.
The Chris tangent looks fucking awful.
I'll still buy it though. I bloody love all the Resident Evils. Apart from 5.

Capcom have been banging on about how it'll be nothing like 5. Hopefully it's as good as Resi 4 which is one of the best games of all time IMO.
If they brought back the merchant I would jizz.

The demo is out! Anyone played it?
Played the part as Leon. Seemed ok, not amazing. It's good to be back in the dark rather than sunny Africa. The camera is fucking awful though, drove me nuts. The way you change weapons was similar to Resi 5 which is bollocks. The suitcase that you have in Resi 4 was a far better method, unrealistic but it worked.
So far it looks better than 5 worse than 4.

Had a quick go last night. If it didn't have 'Resident Evil' in the title, it'd be labelled a generic zombie shoot em up. I didn't dislike RE5, just treated it as though it wasn't an Re game.
The series is stale now, same with Silent Hill. Unfortunately this will sell anyway so my opinion is irrelevant.

They've just turned it into an action game and chucked in as much shit as possible to give 12 year old boys their COD fix. Did any of you play the Resident Evil on the Gamecube remake? That was the pinnacle of survival horror for me. This is just shite.
It's like the Star Wars Prequels, forget about what made something great and throw as much flashy lights and cgi characters as possible.
Zombies with fucking guns.... Smoking cigars.... I despair, I really do.

But RE4 the first RE of the new type was amazing Great battles, some shit yourself moments and some puzzles too fucking brilliant RE5 could have been more of the same but it was shorter, co-op only, no puzzles it was wank 40£ for re6 fuck off |

I didn't play RE4 when it first came out so it wasn't as groundbreaking for me as when it came out on PS2, but the pacing was excellent. Getting chased by that Jammers lookalike with the chainsaw for the first time was fucking horrible.
5 was visually beautiful and they could have made it a scary game, even in the African sunlight. The first trailers they released for that looked like they nailed it... Then they decided to put co operative mode in. So you're never alone and you were never in real danger 90% of the time. It was still relatively fun to play for the first half of the game because of the different setting.
This though, fuck me. There's tank sections, snow mobile sections, turret gun sections, Uncharted style sections, military cover based sections, more that I don't know about...
I hope this flops in sales as it might make them think again about the route they've taken the series.
There was rumours flying about of a RE2 remake. That's the best we can hope for, for this series.

This will be the first Resi which I won't be buying. They've really fucked it up.  How they went from Resi 4 (The best game of all time) to a shit version of COD which I don't even like, depresses me. They should fuck off co-op mode. Enemies with fucking guns should fuck right off. When I was playing the Chris part I felt like I was playing Gears of War, that should fuck off. Tanks should fuck off. Ada's dress should fuck off. Capcom should fuck off, they made an amazing series and ruined it PES style, fuck off. They way you change weapons should fuck fucking off. What was wrong with the system used in Resi 4? It was unrealistic but it worked. Like my arse Capcom you cunts. |

I grabbed it earlier, despite the dire warnings, reviews and ratings, and the first 20 minutes are superb, both in animation and cut scenes..
If it becomes anything like Resi5 then its a frisbee...
