What's the importance of him having travelled there by train? ;D

Why would you want to live in Coventry?

Exactly, I don't think anyone wants to. God knows we are embarrassed enough having a CV postcode

Yup really.
Necessity really, other half works there for the Council and is commuting at the moment. He leaves home at 6.30am and gets in about 7.30pm. If he has meetings that can be anything up to 10pm. Its too much really so we took the decision to try and move down there.
We've submitted proposals for a property down there today actually...if it comes off it will be a lot easier for us all.

Of course, to even up the balance I'll have to find a CCFC message board...... I joke, honestly!!! No seriously, if this comes off it will be a minor miracle. I realise Im being a bit cryptic but we are trying to keep things on the downlow at present. We needed to submit a proposal for a property that needs quite a bit of work. If the powers that be say 'Yes' then its going to be manic for the next few months. Most likely they will say 'No' but we will then still need to sit down and see what our options are for moving. Have to say we are both very much in love with this building and would be truly gutted when they do say no though

There are some nice pubs out my way, not far from Cov at all, Piggy.
Two Stokies in this village too, another one moved in about three months ago. He doesn't know I know this and I haven't plucked up the courage to go and say hello yet but I know he's a ST holder and goes away too ;D

Seems to be a lot more forward thinking than Stoke, but that could just be rose tinted specs etc. My biggest fear is what the hell Im going to do with 15 years of clutter if I have to move!!!

I had a wander around that when I went the other week, very imposing building and very strange to stand in whats left of it. They have quite a few old buildings left down there, I think thats probably why I'm so drawn to it, they seem to embrace their history a lot more than in these parts. Old factories are converted to flats or offices, not like Stoke where they just prefer to knock everything down and leave wasteland where it once stood.

Being serious for a second, if you ever find a book or old film of Cov before the war you'll see it was one of the finest old mediaeval cities in England. Only Spon Street (behind the Ikea) now gives you an indication of what it was once like pretty much throughout. Sadly, the Germans did a pretty effective job.

I fell in love with this area when I went the other week:

Can I just say, as a Fylde resident, stop talking about Coventry.

yes, it really was flattened and, to their shame, post war planners really cobbled together a right mess.
The old Guildhall's worth an hour or so next time you're down.
