I've been trying to keep them all kind of level and not have one ace Pokémon, so they're all a equally mediocre. I picked Squirtle as my starter over my traditional Charmander and it's not a level 42 Blastoise, I also have a 40 Gyrados, 40 Weezing, 41 Nidoking, 37 Vileplume and 40 Rapidash.
My Pikachu's pretty shit hot as well, and I couldn't live without my Pigeotto.

What you have to make sure of is when you're entering the Pokemon league you have a diverse set of 'mon.
1 Water type
1 Fire type
1 Electric type
1 Flying type
1 Psychic type
1 Poison/Ghost or Rock type
Promise me that you will do this...

You need a Fearow rather than a Pidgeotto/Pidgeot when it comes to beating the Elite Four. Fearows Drill Peck move is amazing against Agatha's two Gengars and Haunter works amazing
Nidoking however, is an excellent Pokemon. Excellent Attack and Defence stats

I seem to have battled my way through all the trainers in the game who will fight you and I'm still not confident with the Pokémon I have to take on the Elite Four, I think I've spread the Exp. Points across too many of them.
The last time you battle Gary before going into the Indigo Plateau was an absolute nightmare, I got absolutely dicked about nine times in a row before finally beating him.
It will take fucking ages building up Exp. Points by battling Wild Pokémon, and my psychic/ghost/poison Pokémon are fucking shite.
Bricking it, not gonna lie.
