I was down at the bottom pool last year and it was fairly overgrown - in my youth it was run by a fishing club and full of magnificent carp. I took the car down the dirt track which was far more bumpy than I remembered. Perhaps you can help me, is the Keele to Whitmore road called five mile lane then. I remember the dirt track coming out at Butterton on the Whitmore road and seem to remember an orchard just over the road there when we were kids ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

The three lakes run in a line from infront of Keele Hall, almost parralell to the M6 and the Dirtytrack, 3 mile lane drops over the M6 a lot sooner. If you go on google sattelite images you'll see the woods almost obscuring the lakes in front of Keele Hall, the 3 lakes are in those woods. There was fishing permits required for the lower lake, and a few wooden plinths in a sorry state last time I was there

Then it turns to Bent Lane once you're over suicide crossroads by the Mainwaring and runs through to Stableford... but where's 5 Mile Lane then, that isn't the back road from Stableford to Hanchurch is it??

Sal, I've never even heard of 5 mile lane ;D, back in my youth, my best time down 3 mile lane was 2mins 45 in a 1.6 Escort, but that was on the raggedy edge, and topping 100 between the parking place curve and fishing pond bend, these days I stick to the limit (60)
