Not sure how seriously we were ever in for him, tbh I think he's always been overrated simply because he was a ManUre player, can't honestly see him doing that much for Blunderland.

You can't play for Man Utd without being a good defender. He is a good defender perfect for mid table clubs and perfect as back up for top clubs.
Definitely not a lucky escape, just Stoke wasting time obviously forgetting that without a big squad next season we could easily be relegated.
