This is quite random, but over the last few months I've seriously considered becoming a History/Politics teacher at secondary school level.
Are there any teachers on here? What sort of work experience did you have/need? How stressful is it? Anything I should know.
Sensible answers only please although I expect a shit load of abuse ;D

"stressful" they say only second to bomb disposal
call to a local secondary school (email) explaining your intentions and ask if you can shadow a history teacher

My best mate is a teacher but wants to give it up as it is more about targets than teaching.
I also know a primary school head teacher who is a right vain cunt.
Hope that helps

My kids have good teachers and some bad ones who know doubt find it more stressful than the good teachers who are in charge. So many young people i know have left uni looking for one career and end up going on to teacher training as a second choice, teaching should not be a second choice.

(Just for you) Suffering with stress doesn't necessarily mean you are not in control of the little twats ***Struggling at work due to extra duties forced onto you by senior leaders? ?...... here's your P45*** Doesn't mean you're not in control of the children how fucking ridiculous ;D
