I think he's feeling the pressure that his reign is coming to an end. If it's not just a very good surge in form then Van Gerwin is going to rule for a very long time, especially as his attitude is first class.
Really looking forward to the final.

Why did Taylor react the way he did? because he is a cunt He is the best player that ever lived with an incredible talent but still resorts to gamesmanship and needle. When you are that good and the sports ambassador it's very unbecoming. The last couple of years he no longer has 100% of the crowd and doesn't like it. Phil Taylor is only out for Phil Taylor and when things don't go he way he resorts to cuntish behaviour. All barney did was shake his hand and try and give him the aftermath hug. Barney said he wanted Taylor to beat Hamilton as he wasn't scared of him and wanted to knock him out. It was more about how well Barney was playing and if he was going to win he wanted to take Taylor out on the way but when SKY spoke to Taylor after the Hamilton game they just kept repeating how Barney said he wasn't scared of him. Taylor has always had a big ego and if people want to play mind games before a match he always fights back. With Chris Mason he was justified to shut the prick up but Barney is a gentleman and he was only trying to boost his own confidence. Taylor should have known that. After the game i think his agression and adrenaline got the better of him. The handshake and pull was over the top from Barney but Taylor's emotions had blown before that. He only went to Barney after celebrating and shaking everybody elses hands and even then he didn't want to get into a chat. The yank from Barney just tipped him over the edge. I think Al sees a lot of things that aren't there as he doesn't like him but he let himself down last night. |

He also enjoys it and plays his best game when there is needle so i think he uses it to spur him on (just as Barney tried himself). He is not playing his best at the minute so i have no problem with it whether he is the best or not. If people play mind games on you there is nothing wrong with giving it back. I just think on this occasion he should have watched it with his own eyes and not reacted based on what the presenter was feeding him which was over-egged. Also, after the match it should be over and you should win or lose with class. Barney definitely did yank. Taylor shook his hand and went to turn away. Barney wouldn't let go and yanked him back. As you say, it was for the right reasons as he wanted a friendly hug but Taylor misinterpreted it and didn't like it. He said "don't man handle me" so it obviously upset him. He's now seen it for what it was and realises he's made a big mistake. |

He loses, gives out the obligatory limp wristed hand shake and straight off the tage as fast as possible.
I don't care if he has depression, bipolar and every other mental disease on the planet, i really don't like him.
Did you see him after he beat Newton. He shook the scoreres hand and tried to be funny be squeezing his hand really really hard. The bloke looked like he wanted to kill him and no matter what Wade said to him afterwards he was obviously going to tell him he was a prick as soon as he got off stage ;D
Lewis on the other hand took his defeat really well and finally looks like he is growing up.
