Also, I can't be doing with fans who moan every time the ball goes backwards. Bet they're the same drips that want Pulis out.

Before we beat West Ham in the FA Cup quarter final, the same threads existed in the 2010-11 season too. Every single season people have suggested Pulis should go. I think the promotion season is maybe the only one where people haven't questioned his position, but even then we had mongs chanting "Pulis what's the score?" when Plymouth were beating us... We went on to win. Suitable progress for the "Pulis Out" mob is a top half finish. We've been in the top half for at least half the season and still are. Will they suddenly fall silent if we finish 10th and hit their target? I doubt it That's what I don't get. Homzy the other week was backtracking after I basically pointed out that Pulis was safe and we were on target for finishing in the top 10. Wonder what James Whittaker has to say?

I'm sure James Whittaker will blog about it as soon as he's finished off his crayons.

The thing is, it's already been another decent season for Stoke. 33pts from 26 games is a decent return so far. If only certain folk could accept that sometimes we will have a run of disappointing results, we wouldn't get all the silly over-reactions that characterise next door. I'm sure it'll be exactly the same next year though ;D In fact, if anyone could be arsed (I can't), I'd bet you'd find pretty much the same "Should Pulis go" threads and posts from 2011-2012 when we had a bad run! That's the only time I questioned Pulis and would have been happy for him to have gone. He made me look a bit of a div 7 days later! ;D Still not sure what Crouch and Kightly bring to the table. And I'm a bit pissed off that we conceded and when we conceded. Totally unnecessary. Though we were ok today, just struggle to score goals. Kept possession well at times, and used a lot of long balls which they didn't like dealing with. Looked a major threat from corners as well. Big mention for Shotton. MOTM for me. Despite the win, many fans are still moaning Considering it was a "must win", I don't get why they are scrutinising the performance...surely it was purely about the result. And the moaning about us going backwards is beyond belief. There was a point where the whole crowd were screaming man on to Whelan, so he got it out of his feet and played it back to Shawcross and they moan. Unbelievable.

Our second goal was well worked as well.
Quality play by KJ and a great finish from Jerome.
He is pretty shit, but present him with a half chance, and he's happy to try his luck which most others are not. We were desperate for someone to hit a shot at times today and they didn't, but as soon as he comes on he is facing goal and looking to hit it.

Yeah. Wasn't there, but came away from watching it thinking after a slow/poor start we gradually dominated and should have won by more, but getting the win was all important. And yeah, I enjoyed it.

Did anyone come away thinking 'I enjoyed that'? We dominated the first half and could have been 2 or 3-0 up. The second half was pretty entertaining, especially after Huth's goal and their goal at the end made the last 10 minutes a bit more tense. What do people want? They moan when we lose or draw then as soon as we win people question entertainment value. Fuck me. We've had plenty of exciting games this season.

Did anyone come away thinking 'I enjoyed that'? Until Jones and Jerome came on, I thought it was an awful match devoid of any quality However, once the subs were made, it was entertaining to watch Then again, I take enjoyment out of Stoke City picking up a positive result. We don't get points for being enjoying to watch, we get points for winning games I'm not saying we have to compromise one for the other, it's possible for both enjoyment to watch and positive results to go hand in hand. The Liverpool game gave us a reminder of that

Jerome was quality when he came on. We're really lucky to have a player that can make such an impact off the bench so often, but that's as far as I'd take it.

You've answered my question then. You say we dominated? Right... 2 teams (one if which was one of the worst diwn there for a while) played painful football and didnt get anywhere in the process. Its alright saying 'if' and 'could of' but nothing came off and we were so devoid of ideas, pace or quality. The football is sucking the life out of the atmosphere. We're much better than we what we're churning out. Jeromes goal was great. We'd half fucked without Zonz. I predicted it'd be 2-1 I just didnt think it'd be such a ball ache. I'll ask another question. Do you not think the win papered over the cracks.

I don't like it when the term is used 'they were the worst side I've seen etc', yeah they were, because we made them look poor, they were one of the form teams in the division coming into today's game. It's a phrase that is nearly always used when we beat anyone!

They were shit.
Probably even worse than Southampton who's football is (was) absolutely garbage, yet so, so effective!

We know where we have to improve; we need to score more goals, we need to change our approach away from home in most games, we could do with proper full backs, but all these are small changes that are needed to continue to build on the huge progress that sees us comfortably sat in the top half, 4 points off 7th which realistically we are never going to finish higher than.

The cracks are that small though, that the walls are nowhere near falling down, if they start crumbling and there are bits falling onto the carpet then address it by all means. For now though, the house is very stable and increasing in value every year.
