17 Jul 2011 01:34:02 Stoke manager Tony Pulis has announced that Carlton Cole deal is dead, looking to turn to Peter Crouch instead
doubt we'd get 'the crouch' from Spurs

Crouchy is a decent player and knows how to hold the ball up which is an absolute bonus.

He'd be better than Cole but I can't see it happening.

He'll want higher wages than Cole for fuck's sake. Won't happen. And we'll be willing to pay higher wages because he's a better player. It wasn't that we couldn't afford to pay Cole what he wanted, or that it wouldn't fit into our wage system, we just thought he wasn't good enough to justify paying him the same wages as Huth, KJ, Ethers etc. Crouch is good enough to pay big wages.

Agree with One-Two. Cole wanting parity with our top players is a joke, he's a shit Championship striker. Crouch would deserve to be matching the top earners, although I think even that would be a pay cut for him.
Love to see him at Stoke but it won't happen.

He's Spurs most used striker (for some reason). We have more chance with Defore or Pavluchenko, in my opinion, and their better players.

You do realise if we get Crouchy that whenever he's on the pitch Rory will be too ;D

Crouch would be a fantastic signing for us given the balls our wingers can put in ( how many times were decent balls played in that nobody even attacked last season ?). Good in the air he also has the ability to hold the ball up well until support arrives and certainly a better option than Cole who clearly thinks hes something special (an attitude thats sure to be unwelcome in our dressing room). The problem is I cant see Harry Breadbap letting him go unless it involved a player exchange and we all know hes got a keen eye on our Ryan. Id love to see Crouch heading our way...just cant see it coming off though. Lets hope im proved wrong. Sounds more like a case of calling Coles bluff to me

I'd spunk more jizz than what I did during my first early "wank experiments" when I was about 12 if we signed Crouch
However, would it mean that we're going for a forward line of Crouch and Jones? And where does that leave Walters?

www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/Stoke-City-Pulis-keen-deal-striker-Crouch/story-12970329-detail/story.htmlSTOKE City manager Tony Pulis is keeping a close eye on Peter Crouch's potential availability at Tottenham.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp looks set to try to offload the 30-year-old England striker as part of a summer revamp at White Hart Lane.
And Pulis, a long-time admirer of Macclesfield-born Crouch, would be prepared to wait until the end of the August transfer window if needs be to get his man. Brillaint goal scoring record, I'd love to sign him. i merged it before you Donkey

Very interesting article that. Have to admit I always thought Crouch was shit with his head. Still think he'd be a cracking signing though.

I've always liked Crouch but for some reason can't see him and KJ playing together I've always thought he's better with a small pacy partner.
Wouldn't mind seeing Abby at the Brit tho ;D
