Fucking puncture 5 miles from home today on only its second outing of 2015; cycling gods are testing me I've reluctantly purchased a bell for my manly bike too, pedestrians & dogs keep getting in my bastard way. I asked for a bell for an adults bike in the shop and he gave me a few options to which I replied... "Have you got anything a little less gay?" Shop man... "More descrete you mean sir?" ;D I think the least gayest ones are those spring loaded leaver ones that just do a single "ding" when you flick them. The other type are so gay, you may as well stick a fucking wicker basket on the front of your bike with a small dog in it.

I thought saddles were supposed to "break in" after a while, I'm on nearly 400 miles (not much admittedly) but it shouldn't be like this surely!

No I don't commute just ride most days in the summer 30-40 miles and once or twice a week in winter. I don't have any pictures of my actual bike but it's a Giant Defy 1. I'm saving up for a garmin I think and would love a power meter to train to, however the garmin is about £400 and power meters range from £400-£1300 I could buy an amazing new bike for that much money.

You can pick up £1000 bikes on eBay for £300 Therre is a place just outside loggerheads in the sticks that sell /nod hand bikes cheap. Where I got the giant from greenvalleycycles.net/p/how-to-find-us

I never knew that shop existed and I must have cycled around there hundreds of times ;D I start in Newport and just go wherever the quiet roads take me, been through the Eccleshall, Woodseaves, Loggerheads, Drayton loop loads in the last couple of years.

Nice, I do like the look of road bikes. The quality and technilogy is amazing. If I won the lotto I'd get myself a "racer" just to look at and admire, supomething like this...

18 towpath miles tonight which was surprisingly easy(ish), would have fucked me a code of years back.
I'm liking biking and wondering if to splash out in a better (lighter/newer) bike?
