Love FIFA, been playing it for years, but got a question about FUT.
Is it worth doing?
Looking at the FUT you guys all do it. I always just play Seasons (Currently in Div 3) or Team Play online. I've always been put off FUT cos I was under the impression that to do well on it and get a decent team you have to spend money on it to buy the packs etc and if you're not willing to do that, you're always going to be at a disadvantage to those that do. Is this how it works or have I misunderstood? Advice please.
I'm new to it this year, If you trawl through the UT thread the last 10 pages was basically me hassling Penks for info.
Once I got the hang of it (well most of it), I did a little guide for my brother to get him in to it.
Here is a copy/paste of it (you may have to ignore some of the player price info cuz as Penks says, it's end of season madness and player prices are dropping like crazy, makes it a nice time to learn the game but next season if you do it again it will obviously be tougher to create teams due to higher prices.
Anyhoo, here ya go:-
Firstly, now I understand UT (ultimate team) I get all the fuss, easily the best thing you can do on FIFA.
This is gonna look like a fuckin huge pile of words that isn't worth reading but trust me it is, you will love it.
Chemistry is fucking everything
You can destroy a team of all the best players in the world with a bronze nothing team (and you will do in Div 5/4) if you have chemistry and they don't
How do you get chemistry?
1. All players like the formation (every player has a preferred formation)
2. All players played in correct position.
3. Linked to other players i.e. play in same team / play in same league / come from same country.
Building a team
---------------
You can build a team for nothing that will take you straight to Div 2 and possibly Div 1 if you play well.(there's 5 Divs)
That's 3 straight Seasons of pretty much smashing every fuck, it doesn't get much more fun than that.
Firstly, get FUTWIZ App on your phone, it tells you the value (roughly) of every player in the game.
Secondly, go to
www.futhead.com and favourite the page, it's a complete knowledge base for all players and team creating (I could of saved a fortune if I'd known this earlier.
OK, now you need to pick a formation, stay away from common ones as the players for these are more expensive ie 4-4-2, 4-3-3 etc.
I went for 4-2-3-1, for no other reason than it looks reasonably defensive and I like playing posession tippy tappy football and that looked like it would do the job,
It did just that, I currently have another team that is 4-1-4-1, that works ok too, I have no idea what to recommend to you but I'd say try 4-2-3-1 purely
cuz I know it worked for me.
Next you need a link, I went for an all Spanish team as there's millions of 'em, I literally built a team of 350 (coin cost) players that took me straight to Div 2.
You need 18 players (11 first team 7 on bench to start a game)so you can build an all gold team for 6300 coins
Before I forget there is also a web app
www.ea.com/uk/football/fifa-ultimate-team , far better for buying building teams, and the first time you log on you get a
free pack which you can sell (check prices they're worth on the phone app or futhead).
OK where are we, ah yea, team building.
Once you have your first 18 players you can play, ideally you want at least 22 players though, so you can alternate a first and reserve team, you don't
want to use a team with any players under 90% fitness. If you have 22/23 players you can just bring in the reserves and the bench/reserves get a fitness boost back to
99% if you don't let them go under 90%. Fitness cards are a pointless expensive rip off, they aren't required with a 22 man squad.
The only thing you should ever need to buy are contracts, and you don't even need those til you've bought your keepsy team, but we'll get to that.Fuck it, we'll
get to it now.
OK, so basic gold players you won't need to pay more than 350 for, they hopefully come with at least 7 contracts (that's the amount they start with). Instead of buying
contracts to keep them, use them to run out then 'quick sell' which will get you just over 300 coins then re-buy another cheap gold to replace him. The maths :-
350 coin player + 150/200 each time you buy a contract. 500 minimum outlay.
350 coin player, quick sell for 310, re-buy 300/350, normally 40 coin outlay, sometimes make a profit (some stupid people list gold players at 300)
OK what else
-------------
Trading for profit is fucking nails, don't try it, you'll end up losing money, you need a million plus start pot to get started and it's fucking hard work unless
you know the game inside out.
Buying shit, basically everything is more expensive between 7am and midnight, especially at weekends, so when you can buy shit out of hours, you only really need
players and contracts so when you can buy at the right time, especially contracts, if you buy at the right time you should never need to pay more than 150 for
contracts, pay 200 if you are desperate ( that's for standard gold cards, shiny golds double each figure i.e. 300/400, only buy gold)
Once you've sorted your team you'll be thinking about buying coaches and what not, don't bother until there's nothing else you need, they make the tiniest
differences, same with managers, you will get 99% chemistry without a manager, a manager will take it to 100%, a luxury difference for when you're wealthy enough.
Selling shit, if you've got stuff to sell check it's value on one of the apps, if you have a gold player you don't need and the app says it's not worth 400 or more,
just quick-sell for 300+ change, it's not worth listing the player for less than 50 coins extra (Shiny gold are worth 600+ change for quick-sell)
Erm that's all I can think of for now, oh, not wanting to teach you to suck eggs, when you search for players on the web app (the game app not futhead) remember to
filter for gold/4-2-3-1/Spanish , if that's how you decide to go about it, it's fucking annoying when you forget about the filters and buy a player that fucks your
chemistry.
