It's that time of the year once again where I go nowhere near social media thanks to "The Incident" and some fans being unable to just let it fucking go..
If we could score, I'd feel confident but Arsenal are playing really well. I reckon we'll go for it more than recent years but we'll still lose unfortunately
2-0 Arsenal

Thank god it ain't just me, Arsenal fans turn into 1D-esque fans & Stoke fans bite.
Arsenal are for me the best team in the PL right now, they're firing on all cylinders especially Ramsey he's been fantastic.
I think we'll give it a go & have a few chances, Sparky can't stand Arsenal either, but I think their quality & form will get them through it 1/2-0. Think it will be a good game & I think this will be the game our new found game will gain a bit of respect & people realise, We are half decent.
All I ask is a commited display, but if not then we lost to the most in form team in the league.

Their defence and keeper are fucking rubbish, their attack is probably the best in the premier league. Who knows what will happen???!!!

I have a number of American friends who are vastly knowledgeable and absolutely love football, including all the physical side of it. They're far better and more insightful than the wankerish, nouveau-common upper middle class wankers that seem to have invaded football of late (especially in London, you see the cunts walking around in suits with scarves on on saturdays). However the second article shows more than just the polarization of football in America, but of America as a whole. They can't seem to have a middle ground on any subject. In terms of football they have the committed and fully interested fan (most although primarily supporting a club abroad will have an American club as well), or they have insane morons who know nothing about the game and just spew whatever they've been led to believe by other fans. It's often found that the second kind of fan will either have little knowledge of, or a complete disregard for the rules of the game when it comes to their club, manifested by a tendency to constantly moan about their woes which hold the club back or defend their players to the hilt no matter what the situation. Hence the popularity of the phrase 'he's within his rights to go down' to defend fucking obvious dives. It's what leads so many Americans of that kind to be Arsenal and Liverpool fans.

Would it be really horrible if I wished for Ramsey to get his leg snapped again just to give the story some added legs

Really not looking forward to this game. As previously mentioned, the Arse are firing on all cylinders and before long Walcott and Co will find their shooting boots and royally fuck someone over. I just hope it's not us.
Strangely, for someone who didn't want Hughes here, I find myself thinking we have a better chance of upsetting the Ladbroke Grovers and iPad carrying snood wearing, man bag carrying wankers than if supertone was still in charge. Also I have to listen to the commentary on fucking talksport so that will be utterly biased and if we get stuffed I may just trash my radio.
Goarrrrn you mighty potters.

MARK Hughes is urging Stoke and Arsenal fans to finally draw a line under the broken leg controversy still affecting relations between the two clubs.
Hughes, speaking ahead of tomorrow's Premier League clash at the Emirates (1.30pm), believes it's time to stop digging up the ghost of Aaron Ramsey's injury at the hands of a Ryan Shawcross tackle three-and-a-half year ago.
"Unfortunately, when Stoke and Arsenal go up against each other, it all gets regurgitated... and now it's time to move on," he said."It was a long time ago and everybody acknowledges it was an unfortunate incident.
"A player got badly injured, but it was not intentional, so people need to move on."He says it's high time fans applauded Ramsey's fine form for Arsenal and Wales – and also recognised the genuine possibility of Shawcross winning a second England cap after starting to show he is more than just a defender.

Every year it's time for Ramsay to put "that tackle" (which wasn't actually a tackle, and definitely wasn't "studs-up" as I've seen it described countless times, it was an attempted clearance which he was only late to because Bendtner had a fistful of his shirt,) to bed, but it never happens, they drag it up every year.
Boo-Hoo, the lad broke his leg, yes it's not nice, and no you never want to see a player injured, but bugger me I'd rather be in his shoe than those of Fabrice Muamba or Stylian Petrov. I'm fed up of it being dragged up every year as an excuse as to why his performances have been shite. Now he's actually playing well he's "finally over it."

This should probably go in the Room 101 thread, but if there's one thing that gets on my tits at the moment it's the way everyone feels their opinion has to be heard no matter how trite or just plain bollocks it is. So they start a blog or similar and encourage folk to read it. I'll bet they're thinking this is my break into writing big time. Five years and I'll be at the CL Final reporting on it. It ain't gonna happen. Maybe 0.1% will offer something original and the remaining 99.9% are just regurgitating stuff that's been said already many times over. Take Smudge for example and he's one of the successes! He started a fanzine and now writes a column for a small provincial newspaper. That's about as good as it gets.
There's also a growing trend for some tv shows to put twitter comments on at the end now. Does anyone really give a shit what Dave from Putney thought about it?
Obviously my opinion should be heard.

I haven't read a single rational, sensible article by an Arsenal 'fan' let alone about Ramsey's accident. I can't even be arsed to carry on reading complete bollocks. It's harder to argue with a moron than a genius.
The fact that they are still outraged by it and are by no means ashamed by their pathetic behaviour has a certain Liverpool feel about it. I know that I would cringe if I saw a young Stoke player on the floor on with a broken leg and all his team 'mates' are more bothered about getting the opposition player sent off. Whilst the only fucker around trying to help the young player was someone from the opposing team for fuck sake! Classless. Imagine if Tony tried to paint Sunderland in the same way Wenger did to us after Delap was brutally murdered broke his leg? Then crying to the newspapers begging for protection from referees. (Whatever that means.) I would find it very fucking embarrassing.
It wasn't even the worst tackle in the match. It was definitely not the most malicious after Fabregas' cowardly tackle on Danny Pugh.
