KO bitches.
Incredible that they spend months training for a match and it lasts minutes!

The bloke he fought, Paul Butlin, is a bum, a tough bum, but still a bum. Wouldn't be surprised if it was in his contract (and most of his contracts) that he couldn't spoil the fight - "Come for a decent purse, absolutely no holding or leaning, try to get past the first round, good luck. Eddie Hearn" - so it was never getting past the first couple of rounds, should have put a few grand on it.
Joshua will have a fair few of these to up his record and experience before going on to bigger things. He looks capable of tearing through the heavyweight division at the moment, don't know what his defence is like but he can put people away that's for sure.
Kell Brook looked really good against a tough opponent too. Senchenko had won 34 of his 35 fights going into this bout and I thought it was going to be a real tough test for Brook but he put him away well. He's ranked 4th in the world now at Welterweight, only Bradley, Pacquaio and Marquez ahead of him to challenge Mayweather. Can't wait to see him breaking into the American PPV's next year, fight a few of the Vegas journeymen on the road to the big bouts. Brook v Kahn would be interesting.

Joshua trains literally at the bottom of my street at Finchley Boxing club. really hope he sorts the division out. Long long way to go though.

After winning Gold and two fights?

Outside of the Klitschko's there isn't really much in the division to worry somebody with Joshua's potential. I'd fancy him against somebody like Tyson Fury now and he's in the top 10 in the world. They'll give him 6 or 7 fights against bums in 2014, 5 or 6 in 2015 and he'll be taken seriously in 2016.
My prediction: Anthonay Joshua (18-0-0) vs Deontay Wilder (44-0-0) in a heavyweight super-fight by 2016/17. I think Vitali will vacate his belt next year and Wilder will go on to win that from one of the Eastern Europeans in 2014/15.

After winning Gold and two fights? Audley looked far better when he won his gold. He also deserved it unlike Joshua who should not have even won a gold medal. The plaudits he has received are absurd.

Disagree, thought Joshua looked better winning his gold and it was close fight that could have gone either way against the Italian. Since then though, Joshua looks way better than Ordinary ever did in the pro ring. But it's all potential though at the moment, but to think he hasn't got after only 2 pro fights is a bit harsh. e won't know till at least 10 fights in and he's fought someone decent. He looks like he's got all the attributes to me, including the most important, a fighters heart!

Joshua is a fine, fine man. I'd take a shot in the face from him anytime.
(I thought the fight was a bit rubbish though but that's what we'll get for the next few fights whilst he goes through the division...)

And you're right, probably his first 10 fights will be hand picked, against people he should best while he gets pro experience, so it's going to be hard to judge how good he actually is until he fights someone decent, which will be hard to find anyway in this division!

He'll fight bums for the first ten fights before being moved up, every fighter who turns pro has to go through this process.
What really impressed me on Saturday night is how focussed, hungry and professional he looked and fought. When he floored Butlin, he simply turned around, no emotion showing, waited and carried on. He never had to go above 10% and his knockout blow was just through sheer timing and technique as opposed to pure power. Butlin didn't know where he was about 20/30 seconds later when he stumbled around some more before the referee stopped it.
One thing that'll stand him in excellent stead, and the main difference between Audley Harrison, is that he doesn't appear to be overly arrogant. He's confident in his own ability, which you expect, but he seems like a top, level headed bloke who knows he's got to work hard to get to the top.
Really excited by him.
Kell Brook on the other hand.. great victory but he's still switching off every now and again and that's why he'll never be a top, top fighter. He's got the pure ability to be but not the determination or will to put in the hard work and sacrifices needed to get to that level. I think he needs to be floored for him to maybe realise this and then maybe he'll reach that level.

He's fighting again tonight on the Prizefighter card against some Croatian bum that I've never heard of with a pretty shit record, had 11 pro fights against nobody and lost 6 of them. Joshua is 1/100.
Then he's fighting the bloke that Chisora beat in April on the Froch v Groves card next Saturday.
We should turn this into the official boxing thread. Enjoy a bit of the heavyweight prizefighters.
