Didn't realise until this morning that Luke Campbell had fought and won. He's another cracking British prospect.
Wasn't particularly impressed with Wilder. I'd fancy Tyson Fury to outdo him on that showing.

Just been watching a few of Ali's fights and found this again. Watch Ali's hand speed and accuracy of punches right up to the final bell. Mesmerising stuff, what an artist that man was. And Frazier was hard as nails. Imagine what it takes to get that man to quit with just one round left in the third fight.

Anyone else watching tonight? I watched it (didn't order the box office, I'm not that mad). Wasn't at all interested in the main fight, I used to follow Cleverly's career a bit when it looked like he was going to be the next Calzaghe but I lost most of my interest in him when he lost to Kovalev last year. And I've never really been interested in Bellew; I took note when he was fighting Adonis Stevenson because I think that WBC belt is wasted over there in Canada... but he lost. I didn't buy into the "grudge" between Bellew and Cleverly and don't think that winning it meant anything meaningful. It's a good job that the undercard was pretty good, otherwise they'd have taken fuck all from the box office. They probably struggled anyway, it's 1-1 now between these pair and when asked if there was going to be a third fight, the promoter said "nah, don't think so", which doesn't happen very often. Well their fight was shit anyway, Cleverly looks like he has the power of a nat at that level and Bellew is an average big mouthy chav. Joshua still looks great, I know they can't rush him but he was the co-main event of a £15 PPV on Saturday and it was never going to go past his first punch. Give me a shout when he's fighting somebody of note and I'll watch the entirety of his other fights in the 2 minute clip during the build-up to that. Groves looked shit against a nobody. Degale looked good against somebody that was decent. Never a £15 box office. Cunts. |
