What a fucking game. We had them on the rack at the end and should have won but hey .... We're Stoke and we always help those in need. Shame it's come too late for the Welsh bastards ...... NOT.
Now FUCK REET OFF CARDIFF and don't ever come back ;D

Palace have got Man City and Liverpool to come next, dunna werrit, we'll still finish above them.
Daehli did well for Cardiff today, he'll be off in the summer when they go down.

Yeah, Daehli looks a player and I can see why Solskjaer compared him to Silva. Apparently in Norway they already reckon he's the best player in their history.

He was a bit naive (as you'd expect from a young lad), but looked decent on the ball. Didn't see much in the way of an eye for a pass or shot, but in a team other than Cardiff's you'd imagine he'd look even better.

Seen the highlights now, neither of those were penalties, both 'dives' imo.
Odemwingie cleverly places his left foot in the way of the defenders leg, feels the contact, falls flat on his face. The Cardiff player anticipates NZonzi's leg and flicks his own left leg backwards and falls flat on his face.
Webb is a good ref but got conned for both of them. I don't think he had a good enough view of either of them. Poor.

Disagree, they're both penalties.
Kim (I think) stands on the back of Odemwingie's foot and pushes him in the back. Odemwingie had stepped across to shield the ball and draw the challenge, but it doesn't make it any less of a foul.
Similarly, Campbell sprints for a ball NZonzi can only just reach and goes over his outstretched leg. Again, it's a player looking to win a penalty, but it's still a foul when all's said and done.

Naaah, both soft as a sack of shite, both looked for by the forward, both threw themselves to the ground looking for the pen at the slightest contact, both could easily have stayed on their feet if they'd wanted to.
I need to see Odemwingie's again, but for the Cardiff one, I reckon if Nzonzi had faked to stick a leg out and then taken it away the fella would have gone down in exactly the same way with the same leg movement!

Odemwingie didn't quite throw himself to the ground. It looks soft in slow motion but it's a fairly hefty shove. He's looking for it and probably could've stayed on his feet, but it's not a light push in the back.

Most positive thing for me was how much better we looked than them. A cut above.
Walters and Assaidi were brilliant when they come on and really drove us forward.
Ireland worked very hard and looks superb at times.
Begovic made some good saves.
Think we lacked pace up front today. And needed Arnie to get on the ball more.

Well, if MoTD reckon it was, that proves I'm right! I see MoTD also thought Mike Dean had a good game. So doing nothing to Adam Johnson's high foot (at least yellow, seen reds for similar), taking no action against Ramirez arm to the face on Larsson and giving that pen apparently constitutes a good game. They're idiots on MoTD as we've all agreed many times! They also thought Azpilicueta's challenge was a penalty too, when all he did was slide along the floor next to Altidore who placed his left leg either on Azpilicueta's or where it was going to get hit by it. Totally unnatural way of running with the ball and he bought that one too. Of course you're going to fall over if you stand on someone else's leg! Actually I've changed my mind slightly on the Odemwingie one although I still think he falls over way too easily but at least you could argue he was impeded slightly. The Cardiff one, just watch his left leg as he goes to place his foot on the ground. It's not Nzonzi,s contact that forces his leg to bend sharply backwards at the knee, the Cardiff player instigated that himself so that he then doesn't have a foot to place on the ground and falls flat. Completely bought, if you can't see that you've not played enough football!

Got to admit, Hansen & Shearer were fucking ridiculous in their assessments of games last night but as you pointed out, in particular their assessment of the Chelsea game.
As for the pens in our game, I feel a bit like Mark Bright said on Twitter, "Having played football all my life and over 500 games professionally, I'm really not sure what is and what isn't a foul anymore. #motd"
I honestly don't know if they were pens or not. They both looked very soft, but then you could argue a case for both of them?!

I think the question is did the contact, if there was any, affect the player to the point where he couldn't remain standing or in control of the ball? The Cardiff one definitely not, he instigated that leg movement and fall all by himself. Odemwingie, more arguable but probably still not enough to fall over. In other words, would they have been given as fouls if neither player had chosen to fall over, probably not, therefore they both bought the fouls from the ref with their reactions therefore no pen in each case. Remember, it's a contact sport is football, not all contact automatically means it's a foul.
Imagine if Suarez had won those pennos, we'd all be screaming cheat!

This is the argument now, that if any contact at all is made, then it can be called a pen. My argument would be that defenders are still dragging and pulling forwards all over the place from set pieces but nothing is ever given.

The counter is Sidwells excellent finish, he virtually gets knocked off his feet, chose to stay on his feet and finished really well

The counter is Sidwells excellent finish, he virtually gets knocked off his feet, chose to stay on his feet and finished really well That's the argument now, if he had missed that chance, he would have been berated by his team for not going down when the contact was made. We all know they can stay on their feet, the argument now is if the defender is stupid enough to make contact, then the forward has a right to go down when he feels the contact. Not saying I agree with that, but that's what's happening.
