Tremendous result. Ely Brown fell at the first. Wyck Hill pulled up at the last but one.
At least Oxford won the boat race.

Here's a tempter. You can go back in time to any point in your life at a moments notice and then carry on your life from that point, You can't "revise" or take anything back with you. When would you go back to and what might you make money betting on? I play this "game" quite a lot. I have a hopeless memory and no knowledge of betting. I keep thinking going back to 85 which was my 6th form years, and betting on Boris Becker to win the Stella and Wimbledon which I think he did, then lumping on the 87 cup final where Coventry beat Spurs I think. Do any gambling experts out there have any idea what odds I might expected and what I could have got from my stakemoney which was around 100 quid in my Britannia account.
I suppose Wimbledon won either the following year or year after, but I'm not sure. Would have been worth a punt though, and its possible I might remember the odd national winner from their name, but a slim one.
Time travel would be wasted on me!!

Lloyd Honeyghan beating Don Curry, unbelievable odds that night . Think he stopped him in the 6th or 7th, Curry had taken the fight too lightly. Senegal beating France was huge odds but would choose N Ireland beating Spain in 82 if could go back to a game. Was one of the best World Cup games ever. Had everything.

I remember that night, there was a big thunderstorm and my parents had fucked off somewhere so I decamped to my neighbours house with my little sister and we watched the game there. I couldn't believe anyone was brave enough to have their telly on in a storm, madness I tells thee, madness!!!

Of course if you left the telly on with no one watching it they apparently would blow up in those days , so I used to be told.

Lucky, very lucky. Backed Goonyella at 22/1 e/w and it came in fifth. £10 returned £32-50 but also wasted £10 on Many Clouds whose weight was too much for it on heavy going, so £12-50 profit overall, happy with that.

Had 2nd, 3rd and 4th in my betslip (as well as a faller) but didn't put anything on...
Glad really because I never back E/W so would have lost.
Chuffed to end on 0.

They should change the sponsor, makes it sound like a race featuring pubic lice going around a tiny racetrack possibly in the style of Michael Bentines Potty Time
