Shawcross and Cameron suspended so Upson and Shotton certs to take their places (as everyone knows) I'm more interested in the bench, does anyone think that means places for Edu and Ness..?

Nigel Adkins:
"The only way we can beat Stoke is by playing good football," said Adkins.
"If you give away stupid free-kicks you are playing to their strengths and will get punished."

He's right, but not in way that he means. Good football is winning football, so of course that's the only way to beat a team.
I fucking hate Nigel Adkins.

I hated Nigel Adkins too but they haven't been up to much this season so I haven't had to endure his smug fucking face much.
Same for Pardew

Mersons prediction for tomorrow Stoke v Southampton PAUL PREDICTS: 3-0 Stoke were outstanding against Liverpool. They're the fittest team in the league by a million miles. They work so hard for eachother. They thoroughly deserved to beat Liverpool and looking at this one I never go against Stoke at home. I think this is a banker for them. This is a difficult time for the teams like Southampton down towards the bottom. You either get out of it now or sucked in. Southampton would rather than go anywhere else than Stoke this weekend www.skysports.com/opinion/story/0,,15205_8364281,00.html

Lawrensons prediction. Stoke v Southampton
Stoke's performance in their win over Liverpool on Boxing Day was the best I had seen them play for a long time.
It was a cracking game to watch - normally Stoke concentrate on stopping the opposition playing but, because Liverpool scored so early, they just went for it.
The Potters played some decent football too. They passed it, got the ball in some good areas and looked a very good side.
I think they will be too strong for Southampton. The Saints are not too clever on the road and, although they have improved defensively, I cannot see them getting anything at the Britannia Stadium.
Tony Pulis's side are up to eighth in the table now. They will definitely be aiming for higher but I don't think they are quite there yet in terms of breaking the top six.
To do that you are vying with Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton. Stoke are probably top of the next level down from that, but they keep making a gradual improvement.
Prediction: 2-0

With Ryan and Geoff I would have been a lot more confident than I am now. We should still win it, but when we've relied on a great defence all season, and we're missing 3 of our best 4 defenders in Shawcross, Cameron and Wilson, it's a bit worrying I really hope we play the same system with the two wingers and Walters in behind Jones. If we play as well as we did on Wednesday, we'll absolutely murder them. If we don't, we could get a real shock.

I think that the most important thing is to get the momentum from the start. If we let them start well and gain confidence we could struggle.

Hopefully keeps Walters behind KJ and both wingers start again
Hopefully the defence won't have that much to do. We should be controlling games like these.
In an ideal world we would smash them 3-0 but I fancy it to be just the one
Lallana, Ramirez, Lambert are all decent players, especially Lallana. Keep them quiet and it should be gravy.
Looking forward to it after boxing day's performance! Come on Stoke!

We'll lose 2-1 to really soft goals. Typical Stoke.

Slightly concerning with the minor defensive issue, but it should still be a relative formality (although we always seem to loose one of these each season).
2-0

I've gone for 2-1 but I hope we fucking batter them so we don't get the tag of 'only play like that against the big teams'. Saying that, who the fuck are Liverpool?

The atmosphere really must have lifted the players after the penalty and contributed to the result. Hopefully everyone will be just as up for it tomorrow, we really can't expect to just roll a Premier League team over.

Are we 10 unbeaten if we get a result today?
Key is in the application, if the lads and fans turn up expecting us to steam roll the cunts we could be in for a nasty shock.
They have some good young pace as well so it's important Upson isn't hung out to dry by his fullback.
