Shifting the goalposts again, Swampy  I thought we were talking about budgets! Ask yourself where this youth unemployment comes from. Where did it all start? Why did most countries in Europe adopt a policy of austerity? In response to what global event? Is it really the EU's doing? Goes all the way back to the EU promoting rapid growth within these countries to bring them up to a European standard and in the case of Greece bending it's own rules for integration. It will no doubt be the same for Turkey. The EU model is broken. I think Northy was talking about the overspending in the good years. |

Countries and people in Europe spending beyond their means, letting banks loan out to bad debtors etc.? Shouldn't the EU with its vast amount of staff done something aout it, ensuring countries saved for a rainy day? At which point you or Swampy would have called it meddling interference by unelected Eurocrats having the gall to tell countries how to manage their own financial sectors. You can't have it both ways, Northy If they'd have had a democratic process and been accountable for their failings, they could have been voted out for being complete fuckwits, just like Bliar and Brown, but as there isn't a process we just let them lurch from casuing disaster after disaster and can't change the driver. |

I want going to bite but I've just done my postal vote... Out.
For no real reason TBH, as it stands we get fucked over by the government and the eu. We'll see how it goes getting fucked over just by the government instead.
We need change, some kind of change.... This isn't the government to deliver positive change but having the shackles off might pave the way for future governments to do something positive & radical in the UKs interests.
