Just saw this on the BBC sportsday round-up:
FOOTBALL - Gordon Marshall has returned to Motherwell to take on the role of goakeeper coach. The 47-year-old spent two years at Fir Park as a player between 2003 and 2005 and replaces Stuart Kerr, who has left the club for family reasons.
Anyone remember Joe Jordan signing this useless lump on loan for Stoke from Celtic and do you still have nightmares about it?
think it was 1993, I bet a lot on here are too young to remember the horror.
Was Gordon the worst ever Stoke goalie or have we had worse?

First name i thought of when i saw the thread title ;D I didn't go the 6-2 defeat at luton when he made his debut. I'd got pissed in the day and was listening to radio stoke. 2-0 up then i fell asleep. Woke up and found out it finished 6-2 Barry siddal was fairly poor from what i remember as well.

Muggleton, Ward and Cutler was a pretty poor run off keepers. Muggleton was always shite, Ward and Muggleton just seemed to have breakdowns and turn into 6ft lumps of piss-poor hand-eye coordination.

Ward was a great keeper, just injury prone. Didn't he have a reoccurring back injury? Cutler was average, not shit though Muggleton was a good shotstopper but anyone that was in goal for both of our massive home drubbings, 7-0 vs Brum and 8-0 vs Liverpool, immediately becomes shit

Cutler had a bad back I think. We had at least one season where Wayne Thomas took all the goal kicks because Wardy was both shite at kicking and, if he did kick the ball, destoryed his back. Muggleton was wank, in that wank multicoloured 'keeper top we had. My memories of him involve the ball being picked up out of the back of the net. A lot.

Foster conceded from a free kick from 80 yards out. Doesn't make him wank Cutler was just wank at kicking full stop. He was, however, a half decent average keeper that never let us down Muggers, fuck me..

Ben Foster is a wank keeper with a head the shape of an old school telly ;D Cutler had a decent (but psycho) defence in front of him (Sergei, Handyside and Thommo) which covered up his wankness at kicking, catching crosses, punching... Ed de Goey: Now there's a top, top keeper.

I was in the airport and my old man read it in the paper, we presumed they must have got the club wrong.

I was never a fan if Sinclair if I'm honest, firstly as he was keeping (no pun intended!) Foxy out of the team, secondly as he was crap and thirdly he was 5ft 1"! I did really love the 'Oooh Ronnie Ronnie, Ronnie Ronnie Ronnie Ronnie Ronnie Ronnie Ronnie Roonie......'
He prob wasn't that bad, its just as he was picked ahead of one of faves in Peter!

I remember Cutler being a little dodgy at times, I don't think he was "bad" exactly just "mistake prone" so given that since then we've always had top keepers, he would be the worst.

Wasn't that in the FA Cup away at Bath, against Oxford after playing quite well until the last minute, Gormless Gordon spilled the ball after making a save and instead of getting off the floor and picking the ball up..... he, whilst still on the deck managed to punch the ball into his own net. What a dick!

Muggleton wasn't that bad. Made many good saves in his Stoke career but was terrible at dealing with crosses and had a habit of hiding behind the wall at free kicks.
Actually thinking about it, he was a bit shit.

I was trying think of any horror shows he'd had and nothing came to mind at all. Only memories I've got of him are that he was a very average keeper that did an average job for us

Jesus with a porno tash. Who else jizzed when we signed him? ;D I remember crying when we unveiled him at a press conference. I still to this day don't know how the fucking hell we managed to sign him. We must've let him use the Brit for free when he was doing his porn or something.
