All gone very quite hasn't it...again.
I've said for a while that I reckon his career is over. At the very least, I can't see him just bouncing back into the team and being brilliant again instantly, as some fans seem to think he will.
I honestly think he will end up, at least temporarily, as Grant's understudy. Grant's been awesome and I don't think I can recall any better example of a player finding an unexpected chance thrown at him and seizing it so completely.

Butland is back in training and according to Mark Hughes he will be available for selection before the end of the season.

I wouldn't drop Grant at the moment as he has been mainly excellent this season. Would be nice to get Jack back on the bench though because if Grant got injured or suspended then Shay Given isn't as good a 'keeper as he once was.

Howler from Grant on Saturday but made some quality saves. I think we made a mistake not signing Roger Bumwerld in the window to tighten us up at the back late in games.

Never understand why so many are keen for players to go away with say England, didn't see the Shawcross game but for me wasn't a bad thing. Dean Ashton had his career ended with England and Butland for me will never be number 1 until Hart retires. If only Shawcross had an Irish Granny though

Butlands chances will come again, fully expect him to be number 1 come the world cup finals (if he stops breaking / stretching / snapping / twisting) various essential body parts.
