I'm a USian who will be celebrating my Golden Jubilee this November, trying to work out me and the missus getting to the QPR match (on the special day), and as long as I'm in-country, the Derby match too.
{Bunch of rambling omitted about why I love football and want to see Stoke City - pm me and I'll buy the pints and bend your ear when I'm in town}
Mostly logistical questions - Will it be a struggle to get tickets? Can I walk to the pitch from the Holiday Inn? If that's my home base for a day or two where should I go for a pre-match pint?
As someone totally unfamiliar with November in Stoke, what am I not asking?

Getting tickets shouldn't be a problem. Since relegation there will be plenty tickets left.
If you are staying at the Holiday Inn on Stanley Mathews Way then you are near by. Walking to the ground isn't a problem.
The Harvester is next to the hotel which is popular with fans before the match for pre match drinks.

I would stay in Manchester and ride the train down to stoke.
Nice rub and tug across from the holiday in downtown, just saying....

UTMP As Arkansas says, you may want to stay in Manchester, plenty more to see and do on your doorstep, ditrect trains to Liverpool and Chester (beautiful old city with roman remains) and the national football museum in Manchester www.nationalfootballmuseum.com/For a pre match pint I always go to here - hemheath.play-cricket.com/ it's a 5 minute walk to the ground, met Arkansas in there and had a pint and a chat. I'd have a pint with you but I will be in the States then
