New season kicks in today. It's going to be strange to attend a football match for the first time in a long time. The match almost seems like a side show compared to getting to the stadium and through the turnstiles. Trying to get to my seat without being breathed on.

Well, my dad always moans about Stoke but was full of praise today? Did anyone go or are you all still being sprayed with disinfectant at the ground??

I went!
Not much different to pre-covid days. No special covid regulations unless you sit next to the dugout. The EFL decided a couple of days ago that there has to be an exclusion zone to stop diseased supporters infecting the players. The club spent a few frantic hours phoning season ticket holders in those seats to offer them an alternative seat.
We played fairly well for most of the match. Reading's first equaliser was a result of about five failed attempts at a simple clearance and our new signing Surridge scored a fantastic winner with a few minutes left. There was SEVEN bloody minutes of injury time to survive but we coped and held on for a rare opening day victory.
