Just thought I would start a discussion, we've probably had this before, but I can't be arsed looking back. So, have the learned Board have any views on players that we thought would be amazing and transform the club, only to fizzle out. I was coming up the stairs in the office and thinking about stuff being referred to as "gay" meaning not good, then I thought of someone on the board saying "I don't think its possible to be too gay" which was a response to the player Tudgay then I thought of Tuncay and thought was there ever a player so many people wanted to see at the club, then he came and we were desperate for him to do well, but for whatever reason he just didnt perform. So what other players fall into the Tunner category, and what players maybe were the opposite?

The only disappointment I had with this was that we signed him in the first place. I had zero expectations of him when he arrived as he'd been stealing a living before he got to us, except for early in his stint at WBA |

Not really the biggest disappointment/underachiever, but the Tuncay debacle was a bit of a let down. So much promise but it was just not meant to be. TP played his part in that one though.

It would be interesting to see how many other clubs sign the huge quantity of toss we mange to, bearing in mind how hard it is to become a professional footballer even in the lower leagues, how come so many shit ones seem to gravitate to us??

Dredged from the past but good call. If memory serves me well. He bagged 2 goals on his debut for Stoke partnered up front with Garth Crooks. But only a total of 3 goals in 30 games. Even Waddo had his flops. |

More Crouchie related updates, listening to his latest, not his best but in the rambles, he said an interesting thing. He was talking about Peter Coates being a class act and how PC wrote him a lovely hand written note on his exit from the club thanking him for his efforts. Crouchie said something along the lines of "I knew there was something going wrong at Stoke when Erik Peters started parking in Peter Coates's car parking spot for months and nobody said anything".
