Be interesting to see if any England players follow the caretaker manager in not singing our national anthem before the match.

It's a shit sing anyway, and the King is a cunter who wears a chest emblazoned with medals that mean fuck all. He'd shit himself if someone put a live rifle in his pampered hand. Royal Family ... Like my arse.

The issue many have with our national anthem is that it’s all about the king and royalty and little about England as a country. The Scot’s all belt out their anthem, it’s about their home land, they can all get behind it with passion. It’s the same with the Welsh but ours ? Times have changed… maybe our anthem should too ?

Well we could all sing the Sex Pistols version of God save the Queen. cept now we have a king and it don't rhyme enough with the fascist regime. I shall be paying attention to their faces pre-match tonight. God save the king!

What difference does it make if a player sings the national anthem or not? Standing quietly looking at the flag is as patriotic as singing along out of tune.
I often wonder if it's all a show for the cameras when a player is belting out their national anthem.

Would that be more or less patriotic than all 11 singing it but out of tune ?

If they are stood there scratching their arse or pissing around then that would be disrespectful but standing in silence proudly listening to the anthem is just as patriotic as singing their lungs out. I don't really have a problem if the manager or any of the players choose not to sing.

Carsley-born in England-Wasnt a proud enough Englishman to sing it. If you're proud enough you're vocal about it I'd say. Just as at club level our own Stoke City fans are every match.

I loathe it because.
1. It's all about subservience to the crown etc. It should be about the country.
2. It's a mind numbing, piss boring dirge. If it was a dick it would be a useless limp flop of skin in desperate need of viagra.
3. It's just shit.

Not a great chance Lee Carsley will be getting the England job on a permanent basis if tonight's performance against Greece is anything to go by. Greece played well and deserved their win but England we poor. The system (whatever that was) we were playing wasn't working. The defending on the Greek winning goal was worse than Stoke's defence on a bad day.
Oh well. Who cares about the Nations League?

It's a footballing law of mathematics, that ...
Knowledge minus charisma equals Southgate and Steve Holland.
OMG, they were dull
But they had a lot of knowledge about international tournament football.
For two blokes, lacking charisma and probably never going to win anything, they were about as successful as it's possible to be.
They turned being cautious and giving nothing away into an art form. Their England was nothing if not difficult to beat.
Will be a tough job for any coach to go up a notch and actually win something with England.
Southgate and Holland weren't particularly likeable but they were smart and knew an awful lot about not losing and staying in the tournament.

Will he be singing our national anthem as a German before England matches ?
