Not a bad point that .
The opposite of Portsmouth, when we actually played some football
This time we ground out a result.
Unlike v Portsmouth, our cute passes in the final third ( killer balls) didn't come off and we lacked a cutting edge.
But we picked up 4 yellow cards to Swansea's zero, annoyed the crowd and the ref with our time wasting and ground out a result.
Not pretty and I wouldn't want to watch that every week, but there is something to be said for having an off day and grinding out a result anyway.
We need the mentality showed today, with much sharper passing to make progress but at least the mentality was there .

Swansea missed a few decent chances but so did Stoke. Not many teams will win at Swansea this season so I'm more than happy with a 0-0 draw. International break now so a chance to work on various stuff with the new coaching team for those players who are not on international duty

Any chance you can always work when we play pinters? Stuck at work again today, so once again missed the match. Not quite the 6-1 victory today but Norwich are decent and took the lead so I guess 1-1 isn't too shabby a result.

Not a bad result as Norwich are decent, but we need a win v Bristol to make it a good week.
I am a believer in attitude and body language being a big part of the game so Johansson and Sam Gallagher are big players for us ... they go out looking like they mean to boss it and get the job done.
Gallagher's injury is a big frustration for pelach as hard to replace his presence . Johansson is very likeable and a real positive for us .

Bristol City at home tomorrow and I will be attending as it doesn't clash with bloody work. Bristol City are doing reasonably well at the moment so could be a tough match but hopefully we will be good enough on the night for a home win!

V Bristol city
28 shots on goal conceded 13 corners conceded.
We concede a shot on goal every 3 mins, which is some going when you consider how much of the game is conceding a free kick , corner kick , throw in , retrieving the ball , arguing with the ref etc .
There is no Steven nzonzi / Johnny Eustace style midfield enforcer . No Glenn Whelan/Howard Kendall/ John Mahoney style intelligent Defensive midfielder. Just a huge amount of chances conceded.
If Johansson plays like superman, we might scrape a draw !

Tchamadeu and Burger in midfield and Phillips in for Rose will hopefully make it harder for the opposition to get so many goal attempts.

Listening to the commentary on Radio Stoke and it doesn't sound good. Conceding loads of chances to Sheffield United. We are losing 1-0 but it could be worse.

How predictable.... Tyrese Campbell scores his first goal for Sheffield United.
2-0 to the Blades and we are probably fucked now.

Tough one to watch. Campbell scoring was going to happen. Good for him.
For us we are about 8 -9 years from the free fall to the bottom of the prem to here. Will we ever turn the corner?
So hard to watch. A long way from me traveling to stoke on a Tuesday night to see us beat Chelsea with 10 men on penalties.

Oh well. It wasn't to be for us today. Not great today but a cup match on Tuesday and home to Derby next Saturday to turn our fortunes around.

There is more than one way of playing but you can't get by at this level without Andy Wilkinson, Glenn Whelan style characters who are not shy about getting stuck in. Someone mentioned 8 or 9 years ago , I like looking back too ! To the time we had Steven nzonzi and Glenn Whelan in midfield ...tough opponents. We are just not that hard to play against these days . The words SOFT and TOUCH spring to mind.
