Good luck to him.
He has a massive job .
Very difficult with an owner as wealthy as John coates to not be seen as a club where mediocrity and even outright failure, is well rewarded.
I am sure he has very good tactical understanding of the game, but it's his man management skills that will be tested at Stoke.
Unfortunately we are a club, where the players sometimes go missing, during the game! In the middle of defending a corner kick ! Etc . That can happen at any club, sometimes it's not your day. But it happens too much at Stoke .
If he can give the players confidence? Focus ? Belief ? Desire ? Whatever it is they lack ? Then he will have a positive impact.
If he can't improve the mentality of the club, he won't last long.

He will have Dean Whitehead to kick the players around the training ground to remind them of the importance of hard work and awareness at all times during a match.

Fair play to John Walters and Jon coates .
They have accepted bringing in an old school proven experienced championship manager...rowett , Neil , Schumacher...may not be what stoke city 2024 need .
They are going to try something different.
Good luck to them.

I admire your optimism. "White Star Line appoint local lad as manager of its new big ship, RMS Titanic" ....

If Jon Walters is so influential perhaps he should have taken up the hot seat himself.Stoke are taking a punt with the new man and they are not very good judges since dropping out of the Prem.

Yep 😊 It's a punt
But Kieran McKenna was a punt when Ipswich gave their managers job to the man utd first team coach with no management experience.
Pelach is a gamble because shuey was decent.
Shuey had a better win percentage than rowett, Nathan Jones, O'Neill and Neil. He wasn't a totally lost the plot Nathan Jones sacking ( 100 per cent fans want him gone ) . He was competent and Jon Walters is gambling pelach will be better.
We will just have to see what happens.

He hasn't got the strongest of playing squads but he has to somehow change the mentality of stoke's players or he is a no hoper .
I am reading The Damned United. Brian Clough has seen his high flying Derby ( champions) go to a lowly side ( Huddersfield town I think? ) and lose one nil ...he comes off the pitch fuming, his players are going to get both barrels , he screams at them Durban fecking this that , McFarland effing blah...destroys them from one to ten , the eleventh player ...Alan Hinton...you played well , well done. Up next Leeds United, Clough looks round the dressing room and he knows the game is lost before it starts , he can see fear in his players eyes . 90 minutes later after defeat to Leeds he has his arm round the players one at a time praising them, telling them how great they can be. Basically taking completely the opposite tack to the previous week! Clough knows he went too far the previous week and a fresh approach is needed.
I have no idea how pelach is going to do it.
No idea at all, but he needs to change the mentality of stoke players or fail .

Hmm, obviously one must take his word as he's obviously on the pitch, but it seems the intensity isn't there and its hard to know how he's going to build on a poor start, as we know, losing becomes a habit and once the rot has set in, its hard to turn the ship around.

Seems we are going shit or bust with Pelach. He seems likeable enough but more experienced managers have found the job too much for them.
Walters status is on the line especially with the signings of Lawal, Gallagher, and Seko, who for one reason or another aren't even regular contributors.
The signing of Lawal is simply mind numbing. Why not wait until January if he was long term injured?
There must be better value in January than Cannon surely.
Jury's out for me. We are stuck with him now.
