There are only two reasons why we wouldn't get the likes of SWP, Barton etc and QPR would: money and location.

Unfortunately modern footballers severely lack any ambition and would rather have an extra ten or twenty thousand a week at some club with a shit ground, shit fans and that's going to be fighting to stay in the league; than go to a club that is a pretty much established Prem club, playing in Europe and has a great fanbase and noisy stadium.

Plus, I'm afraid Stoke-on-Trent doesn't quite have the same appeal as West Kensington.
