With Walters basically playing as a midfielder? Given that he does that anyway, he wouldn't have to get forward as much, so could get on with his job of harrying, breaking up play and denying any space, but could also get forward on the attack. I doubt TP'd ever play it away and probably not much at home either, but it could be interesting if we're chasing a game or need wins in the EL or LC or FAC... Maybe even against lesser teams in the Prem. Par exemple: Begovic Wilkinson Huth Shawcross Wilson Pennant Palacios Etherington Walters Jones Crouch
But with Walters dropping in along Palacios when defending and moving to behind the front two on the attack. Discuss.

We did once!
Can't remember who against, maybe Sunderland. Fuller and Jones had started and Walters came on for a midfielder in a kind of Van Der Vaart role when we were losing.

Yep it is definitley a goer that as Wilson on form can patrol the cage area of the pitch that Pulis likes his midfielders to do on his todd such is his fitness and tenacity. But with Walters dropping in along Palacios when defending and moving to behind the front two on the attack. Discuss.

Looks good, but I don't like the Walters in the attacking midfield role.
We need Van Der Vaart but cheaper to slip in there. Then we'd have an almost brilliant side.

Begovic Huth - Shawcross - Woodgate - Upson Pennant - Palacios - Wilson - Etherington Walters
Jones
or Begovic Huth - Shawcross - Woodgate - Wilson Pennant - Palacios - Delap - Etherington Walters Crouch Would Pulis ever play a midfield 3 with only 1 defender in there? Very doubtful.
