Could he be? He started as a striker didn't he?

Quick thinking and he showed the awareness of a striker in nicking the ball away from Foster. I'd like to see how he would do as a winger. if he keeps this up he'll be worth £50million soon

I think he started as right winger. Looked very quick to get onto loose balls again today. He hasn't got the confidence yet to try and take on players I think, from the little I've seen in last few performances.
His brother said in a post-match interview recently (plays for Stafford Rangers) that he thought Ryan was moving away from Stoke. With TP playing him in league and Europe, I doubt this very much. He is looking a fine young player.

Not sure he`ll make a striker but I love the way he chases everything for Stoke. Bit like Wilko in respect of his attitude. The Split goal was down to him chasing the ball and harrying their defender, causing him to commit the mistake and putting the ball in his own net. The WBA goal was much the same, chasing the ball and causing a moments panic and uncertainty resulting in the goal. I mean, we`re into the last few minutes, we`re away, its 0-0 and happy with a point. How many other players would have chased the ball like that ? KJ ? I doubt it very much. Nice one Ryan ;D

I'm sure he played up front as the young Lister singing 'Om' in the pub in that Red Dwarf episode with the Tension Sheet all those years ago.

When he had a chance a few minutes before his goal he looked like a rabbit in the headlights, although he did very well for the goal. I'd like to see him brought on as a winger when Pennant tires as he often does. He'd provide good cover for his full back and his size, power and enthusiasm would give many full backs a headache. We saw in his cameo on the wing the other week that he has a decent cross in his armory.
I'd also like to see him given a few sub appearances at either right back or centre back. He deserves a chance to show what he can do in one of his regular positions.

Just watched Shotton's goal for the first time and I can't believe there's been any fuss about it at all.
Fuck off West Brom, winging bastards, as if it's our fault they're shite.

Foster had both hands on the ball and a free-kick should of been given for a high foot.

The angle I've seen, it didn't look like Foster had control of the ball at all.
Shotton's foot was high, but he took the ball without making contact with Foster so it's irrelevant. Should Rooney's goal against Man City have been disallowed because of a high foot?

Shotton's foot was only at waist height. However Foster just about had his hands on the ball, 50-50 whether the goal should have stood or not but it did stand, so nice one Ref!
hope young Ryan gets more pitch time for Stoke this season.

Should Rooney's goal against Man City have been disallowed because of a high foot? Everyone has a different opinion on whether Foster touched it first or Shotton touched it first. At the end of the day it was given to Stoke, so we can both be happy! With Rooney, his high foot wasn't any where near a player.

P.S Foster wasn't in control of the ball when Shotton's foot made contact with the ball. In my biased opinion the ref got that decision right.

Yeah but Rooney made just as much contact with another player as Shotton did. Like I said, I've only seen one angle of that goal but to me it looked like Shotton clearly got the ball before Foster.
