Who cares what they cost ? Without these additions I think we would have seriously struggled to cope with the fixtures. Walters is knackered now and needs a break and the extra euro games would have worn a few others down too. That only leads to more injuries and niggles and by Christmas we would be at the wrong end of the table fighting for our lives. So weve spent 20mil and given ourselves experienced depth, enabling us to fight on all fronts and a real chance of being comfortable in the top half. With the 17th placed team picking up at least 60 mil that seems like good value to me.

I haven't read most of the thread but Parker is in his 30's.
Palacios is 27 and in his prime. I'd much prefer him to Parker.
Crouch we've probably paid a little too much imo (although who knows how much of it is up front). However as I said on another thread, he's the marque signing we've been looking for and the amount of heads that transfer caused could well benefit us massively in future windows.

BBC seem to think Palacios was 6 and Crouch was 10.
If we have got Palacios for 6 then I think it's fantastic business.

We won't get a better midfielder than Palacios who fits in perfectly with us and how we play. Crouch is a tad expensive mind; but that's only by a couple of million so I think its great business.

Palacios if Tone gets to work on him will basically do on his own the work that two midfielders did in that area of the pitch which now would allow a more advanced role for another midfielder and for this I really think it is time to let Glen Whelan shine

Exactly and we'll having the balancing act in the centre we have been crying out for; If Tone does get Palacios on the right track again; best midfield signing since Hudson? (First time)
