He hasn't got a son, who doesn't have cancer, and in all liklyhood he's decided to "retire on personal grounds" was in order to have his contract annulled and get a more lucrative on over here in Englandshire.

Having said that, Vest, I hope his imaginary son makes a full recovery. Fictional cancer is the most hard hitting of them all.
