very impressed with our signings and the way the club is going.... well at least the dozen or so that I've spoken to this week.
And what a nice lot they are. You've got to give it to Pulis and Coates because just a few years ago those same fans would have been a tad snooty about little Stoke but they're sounding a little envious now and respectful.
Highlight of the week - whilst getting a drink in the cafe at Edinburgh castle the guy serving says, in a Scottish accent "I'm a Stoke supporter". Turns out his mother's a Bentilee girl ;D

After they've drunk 3 pints, I can't understand what they're saying.

They are good fans in the NE, you don't see many fans with Man U tops on which is good in my book and they are not exactly glory hunters are they

I had a real laugh with three Sunderland fans at Alnwick about "winning things"

I spent a couple of days in Hartlepool ( cant believe it myself but it was a free hotel and expenses on my wifes work account ). Anyway, after the initial ribbing from them about that cup match they turned out to be a great bunch and loved the fact Stoke were roughing the prem big boys up. One of them even got their groundsman to open a gate so I could have a look round the ground as I`d never been. Still a bunch of monkeyhangers though

they're both a bunch of plebs with delusions of grandeur who conveniently forget that Before King Kev and Peter Ried turned up their crowds were in the mid to high teens

they're both a bunch of plebs with delusions of grandeur who conveniently forget that Before King Kev and Peter Ried turned up their crowds were in the mid to high teens Sunderland are definitely the more deluded of the two now. Although they may used to have much smaller crowds, but just by the fact thye can pull in as many as they do is pretty amazing. Newcastle are easily the bigger team though, but Sunderland fans think they are the biggest team outside the top 4, and 5/6th is where they should be finishing every year, despite competing in the Championship several times.

I think both are as bad as each other; Sunderland are just jealous that we can turn there "scrap" into gold (minus Collins) and more times than not finish above them; Newcastle fans are just born that way; I just think it's a North-East thing to be deluded.
