It finished 0-0.
Was a group game in the cup.
Nash
RobertsNurse - Parry - Davies - Andy Hall
Suljevic - Dawson - Clarkson
Soares - Thompson* - Musungu
*trialist
Nash was okay, first half a bit iffy but i'll put that down to match sharpness, spilled one shot and the striker blasted over an open goal. He was offside anyway but still..
The defense was sound, Andy Hall is really coming along and he really is a top player, but he's small and loves bombing forward, he has an awesome shot/cross on him. He'd be ace for someone but I can't see TP taking a liking to him but he put in some immense tackles. Parry and CRN were both sound, like to pass it round the back, both solid.
Dawson - Same as per, solid, not much wrong, just sits back knocking it around.
Clarkson - Same as per, plays slightly higher linking up play
Suljevic - Played very well, again plays higher up than Dawson linking the play. Loads of energy.
Soares - Couldn't give a fuck, had about 5 touches, didn't run at all.
Thompson - Some trialist, he was 6ft+, black and shit, didn't have many chance. One chance he did have 1 vs 1 with the keeper, he chipped well wide.
Musungu - Another decent performance, got some immense skill/dribble about him, get's out of some tight situations but never fucking passes!!!
Subs:
Richardson - Came on for Soares, played RM, gave the game some life, some good runs and one mazy dribble into the box but the keeper saved.
Rossi - On for the trialist, again gave more energy into the game, intelligent play, hit the post.
Tunji - On for Clarkson, went 442 with Rossi/Tunji up top, Musungu/Rico out wide. Smajl/Dawson in middle. Didn't do much, had 1 good header wide.
One player I left out of that little summary, Andrew Davies.
What a fucking animal.
He never lost a header all game, dominated the back line, was helping the kids at the back along nicely.
Lacked pace/energy, a few times he went up for corners and he just walked back while they attacked, put it down to him being a nob and lacking fitness.
He nutted the post and lay flat out in Nash's goals for a good minute before standing up, falling down again and then being okay. ;D
He also got the only yellow card of the game, for telling the female referee he would bang her in the showers after the game.
;D ;D ;D
Overall we probably deserved the win, shouldn't have started with some random trialist who's never trained. Rossi should have started.
Chesterfield hit the post too but we had more chances, loads of shots straight to the keeper.
